Homeschool and Socialization

    I am glad you understand where I am coming from. For the most part, I think a good number of the homeschooling families I know do a great job. But, at least where I live, there is not a lot of objectivity on the subject, even among the obvious situations where the child(ren) are not doing well.

    MANY homeschooling families do a good job. I just wanted to put in my say. I think home educating is a great idea for many. As long as the parents can stay objective to their children's needs and weaknesses. This goes for trad educating families as well.

    I know what you mean, in fact, I know a family that use to "homeschool" their children, but it seemed that anything the kids learned was in spite of the parents and not becuase of them. I shan't go into details, but it was a shame and I'm glad the kids are in school now.

    I believe these kinds of homeschooling families are the exception though, and would hate to see others judged by their poor standard. For the most part, I think that families that choose to educate their children at home take the responsibility very seriously and do their best.
