    yes i did kc...

but, i was vomiting CONSTANTLY, all day, every day, for seven months...didn't i have a right to be in a bad mood???

and secondly: this thread really ticks me off. i wrote a poem about this once, viewable at my website (www.fauvepainter.com)...
there's a lot of female bashing on this thread, a little male, but mostly it's about how gross the period is and how women use it for an excuse to be bitchy...
both of which concepts irritate the shit out of me.

people always have a RIGHT to be in a bad mood, it's whether or no they have the RIGHT to take it out on an innocent bystander. yeah, i've had my rage troubles, but i do know that just because i have morning sickness, general discomfort and/or cramping and hormonal freak outs, none of this is dave's fault. between my mom, my sister and my mother- and sister- in law, i've been able to see bad behavior and attitudes on my own part. the simple fact is, unless you're suffering a psychotic break on a monthly basis, screaming at the people around you has no place in your life. a lot of time it's just laziness or pride. not wanting to be the one to put up the effort to behave. but how many times has someone bitten your head off for no good reason? did you like it? was is fair for someone to make you feel that way? it takes work to pay attention to what's going on in your body and mind, but it's worth the effort in your relationships.

it's kinda funny, because while i get a little cranky from not being able to sleep well, emotionally i'm better than when i'm menstrual. it's a lot easier to chill out when i'm being an asshole when i'm pregnant. i could really use a beer, though, after this past couple days. sheesh. what a wreck.

you know, i just gave up on hiding that when i was in high school. i brazened right through it and since i wasn't embarassed, no one else was either. people so often take their cues to be embarassed or grossed out from other people.

i was kinda forced to get over it, because i was such a horrible klutz, especially when i was nervous. so i just had to be all cool and suave about it and look people in the eye like "yeah, so, what of it? you came outta one of these bleeding things, don't act like you didn't."

maggie your daughter's hair is gorgeous! as is she, but the hair really caught my eye. sorry, just had to mention that.

as for the topic, you gals have got it pretty much covered. i have a terrible time with controlling my mood just prior to my period, the two days before can be a living hell. i'm generally a very passive person so i guess it all gets stored up for my ever so joyus monthly miracle. when i'm actually menstruating however, my spirits are quite high, despite the breakouts, bloatedness etc. so the original question is somewhat inaccurate, i believe our misinformed friend here is referring to the phenomenon of pms. so yeah, that can pretty much be attributed to changing hormone levels which affect many aspects of our minds and bodies. for instance it really screws with my sleeping patterns, and i get very weepy if i don't get enough sleep.

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle.

For instance, if she is ovulating she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features.

However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she is more prone to be attracted to a man with scissors lodged in his temple and a bat jammed up his ass while he is on fire.

    interesting!

lol. it's true. personally i prefer no men at all. i mean, seriously, with the blood, the perfectly good pair of scissors ruined, and the ashes and stink from the bat.....i just don't wanna clean it up, and you know HE'S not gonna! inconsiderate bastards.

when i'm in an anti man bit, i like to put in that "he had it comin'" scene from the chicago movie and enjoy myself.
