How common is "hooking up" in college?

When I got to college, I would say that about 65-70% of my new friends, who were girls, were virgins. I was shocked. Most of my friends and even girls I knew that I wasn't real close to during HS weren't virgins. In fact, I had only 1 friend who was a virgin when I left for school. Some of my friends were real...well....promiscuous and when I say promiscuous I mean they would sleep with a guy they didn't even know a first name to that they met 15 mintues prior to....sometimes multiple times a night.
Sooooooo it was a huge shock when I got to school. One nighters weren't very prominent. So as far as, are American girls easy, I would say some are some aren't. I'm sure that's how it goes in a lot of other countries too. I concur with the ideology that the media frenzy does give us a bad rap for being so "oversexed" and "loose" or what not.

 

A balanced view indeed...from my perspective, being brazilian and all, american girls look like boring nuns. Pure and simple.

 

True indeed. I was going to mention that, but couldn't back it up with statistics. But, yeah, it is my impression that most european countries are actually much more open sexually than the U.S. The reason for that is...Europe is more atheistic, generally speaking, and so Christian mores don't oppress women nearly as much as here.

To say that the U.S. is oversexed, is like saying the U.S. is very violent. Well, if you notice, the more crime drops, the more of it you see on TV. People are so influenced by the media, they confuse it with reality.

 

You see, it's views like yours that I just cannot see any relevance. How can you classify millions upon millions of girls as boring just by where they happen to reside on the globe? I just don't get it. My point being is, just because we all live in the same country does not mean that we can all be classified together.
Or are you just classifying your own experience of American girls or the media frenzied stereotype American girls? Surely, you have not experienced every American citizen with tits.

 

So I guess those Chinese women are all sluts? And those soviet russians...man, you know they could get it on.

Please. You can believe in god and still have a healthy view on sex. And I resent you implying that in order for women to free themselves they have to have as much sex as possible.

Jesus Christ, such meaningless banter...of course I'm not talking about every single American or Chinese citizen of the female gender.

It should be obvious I was making a general statement, not an absolute one. Which is to say, GENERALLY, American women strike me as pretty uneventful fare.

But of course, there are individual American women who do not fit that profile, it goes without saying. Duh!!!!

Please find the quote in my posts where I refer to Chinese, Russians (The Soviet Union no longer exists, in case you're unaware) and, particularly, that part in which I supposedly say that "in order for women to free themselves they have to have as much sex as possible."
