I have no idea where my name came from but my eldest son was named for a very good friend of mine in high school. If my ex-husband had known why I wanted to call him Tyler he would have completely freaked out. He wanted to call him Sheldon (YUK). He is so not a Sheldon. There is a sad reason to that as well. My name is Shelly and his was Brandon put them together and you have Sheldon. How totally sad which was why I talked him out of it, at the last minute mind you we went to hospital going to call him Sheldon if he was a boy but after he was born I looked at him and said your no Sheldon and talked him around.

Ok, this sounds pretty far fetched, but that's how my mom explains it. She has always loved all kinds of myths and legends and stuff and she especially loves all those stories about King Arthur... Well King Arthur's wife's name was Guinivere, and from that comes ->Jennifer -> Jenny -> Joanna -> Johanna (my name)... That's how I got my name. :D
My second name is Maria, which runs in the family.

My mother wanted to name me Elizabeth after some great grandmothers, but my dad didn't like it. She also liked Cassie, but I guess my dad didn't like that either. I think she said she really wanted to name me Cassie Elizabeth (which I would like much better than my real name!) But somehow I ended up being Christina. There is no one else in the family with that name. I think my mom just liked it. And my middle name is Leigh, which is named after my father, grandmother, and great grandmother who all had the middle name Lee.

my parents asked my grandma to name me. she chose it because mary was her mother's name and her name was joan (joanne) so she took the mary and anne and combined them. (i wonder what would have hapened if her name was jane?). ... I hate that story. i wish they named me after the gilligan's island character. that would be funny.

my middle name (sue) was added on when the doctors were making my birth certificate. my mom was all drugged up (c-section) and told them to put it there. and my dad had been awake for over 24 hours, so he just let them. he regrets that, which is understandable. Maryanne Sue sounds like i came off the oregon trail
