How did your parents pick your name?

lol that's hilarious, i was thinking the exact same thing.

my name, Alexandria, has something to do with my greatgrandma or someone's name being Alexandra, but my mum wanted to fancy it up and add an i. My middle name is Marie, it comes from nowhere, my mum couldnt find anything else that flowed. My sister has the same middle name, it's gay, My mama wanted to name be Genevieve, but my dad could never pronounce it properly. One day I'm gonna name my lil girl Genevieve, for my ma.

My name is Angela, and my dads favourite band is the Rolling Stones and his fave song is "Angie". The first time he heard that song he knew he was going to name his first daughter "Angela" and call her "Angie".

 

i dunno how i got my first name, but my middle name is Trevor, and when I was born Trevor Bourbon? i think is his last name (a boxer) knocked out this guy and won, so my dad made my middle name Trevor

 

Before I was born, my mother had had 2 boys and thought she was destined to only have boys. When she had me - a daughter she was so gloriously full of joy she named me Gloria Joy.

 

I'm not sure where they got my first name "Ian" from but my middle name "jadot" was taken from my fathers favorite French wine "Louis Jadot" Which I hate and is cheap and you can buy at any grociery store. The T i Jadot is silent by the way~

 

I guess my parents were drunk when they picked out my name.

My name's Pinky and my parents picked it because I was born the day before Saint Valentine's. It made them think of the colour "pink", but they didn't want to call me pink, so they added the "y"...so here I am: Pinky. Yeah, i know...it's ridiculous and very funny!

 

It was a misty dawn so my name is Misty Dawn. Origional I know.

 

my name pallavi was given to me by my mum coz it means "the new tender leaf born in spring"... and since i was born in spring!

I don't really know for sure but I suspect I was named after my uncle John, who inseldentally was born on my mother's 13th birthday! But it would not be the first time I was wrong if so.

 

MY mother was supposed to name me if I was a boy and my dad if a girl, however she gave him two names to choose from, Melanie and Penelope. When my dad tried to pronounce Penelope he couldn't and it ended up sounding like cantalope.

He got frustrated and named me Sharon after his Shriner temple because it was the only name he could think of. He refused to give me a middle name saying I would never be called by it, but I think its because he hates his middle name Francis.

 

Seeing how my name is Big Dick McGee, you figure it out.

 

My mother named my older sister, so my dad had his turn with me - he just looked and me and decided ***** was perfect.

My mother picked my name because it is the name of a flower, and that's what appealed to her, being the hippy she was. My father liked it as well, so they decided to go for it. My middle name is also a name of a flower, although I didn't know that until recently (it's not an obvious floral name)

 

My sisters both have fairly long names (Elizabeth and Christine) they both had really hard times trying to learn how to spell tehir own name.. So I got a short Name *Vicky*

 

i was named after lindsay buckingham but i got the european boys spelling of the name my grandma swers i was named after the bionic woman though so who knows

 

I'm named after my mom's mom (who died a month before my mom knew she was pregnant with me) and also a song... I have my grandma's first name and her middle name was Kay, the song I'm named after is Kayleigh (by Marillion)
