How do I get a spirit Guide?

Liquidlight commented on your photo before. Your photo strikes me also, and I want to comment. You look like someone who is grappling with deep spiritual issues. I guess these things show.

I want to send you peace and love. I want you to be at peace. In all honesty, it seems to me that the peace I wish for you is not readily forthcoming. That's okay - it is what it is. The grappling you have before you is like the grappling we all have before us. I should probably wish the same peace for myself that I wish for you.

You seem really driven to search out your spiritual self. And Mysterious Night, I believe this drive is going to lead you along a fascinating path of self-discovery throughout your life. So at the very least, I can offer you this bit of light and hope.

 

I don't know how I could be so stupid and choose to enter this life time with no contact/connection with my spiritual guides, makes this last stretch much harder. I guess I really wanted to test/challenge myself.

Now I'm wishing I didn't make that choice, but I've gotta go through with it.

I have a repeated situation that keeps coming up in my life. I dealt with it differently this time than I did the past two times (three's, Windy!) and it still didn't work. At least, not that I know of just yet. That's what got me all into this, coming to this forum b/c I just knew then, just fucking knew that this was not coincidence.

I've seen "signs" from time to time, but my dreams for some reason just aren't getting me anywhere. They're gone from my memory as soon as I open my eyes. But I know they are important and it maybe be the way my spirit guides are trying to talk to me. At least for now, until I'm ready to listen in my head.

 

I have the same problems with my dreams right now, I get an important feeling from them but I seem to forget as soon as I wake up. Sometimes I'm even aware during the dream, but when I wake up I forget. Quite irratating.

 

Just recently as i've been waking, it feels not as if i've been dreaming as such, but rather having some kind of important conversations with ... someone? I can't remember them. It's wierd. Never had anything like it in my life.
I also feel i'm getting pretty serious about things, my path, right now. Things are happening. It's hard going but i'm coping ok.

 

I've done that once or twice, liquidlight - woken up feeling like the spirit part of myself has been having a conversation about me in my sleep with other spirits. I just get a snatch of it as I rise to consciousness, and it's as if they're talking about the course of my life, and what I need to experience in order to acquire certain attributes. One time I heard someone say something like, "Now he needs to gain a sense of outrage at injustices." That was a couple years ago, and I see that happening in my life.

 

It's happened the last 3 mornings in a row and from what you've just said it's the same, yes.
Somethings going on with my vision too. I've good eyesight .. in fact i'm the only one in my family who doesn't need glasses and i'm used to seeing colour and shape distortions, heat hazes and all sorts of reflective wierdness and kind of 'soupy' thick air with movement. But i feel this is kind of a step up from that, like REAL DEFINITE shapes and movement. I've been working on less thinking/more awareness for about 9 months now ...using several techniques Eckhart has taught me, the breathing, the 'observing without naming', and focusing awareness on the 'inner body', and the last 2 days really i've been noticing that i can 'not think' for longer periods now and it might have something to do with these increased gaps. I just need to keep going with it i reckon.

 

Sounds like you might be close to what Carlos Castaneda called, "stopping the world." I'll be interested to see if anything develops for you. Maybe interested enough to try it myself.

 

Ya, I also thought of Carlos and "stopping the world. I really ought to dig his books out again. I'm such a Castaneda fan

 

I spent Sunday doing some Internet research on Carlos and his cohorts, most notably Florinda Donner. I was kind of flabbergasted and perplexed by what I found. Did you know that the three "witches" who lived with Carlos in LA for years and later helped him with the Tensegrity stuff ALL disappeared shortly after his death? And his death itself was not revealed to the public for roughly two months, after his body had been cremated and sent to Mexico...if you can even believe that. I'm not sure what to believe anymore...maybe I should start a Carlos thread to talk about some of this.

 

I've read just a little Casteneda and it's fascinating ... y'just gotta love that nagual eh?

...but i steered clear of reading more because of the ambiguous... is it true or bullshit theorys. Great reading though.
I also watched a bit of one of those tensegrity videos once ... we found it all quite amusing and silly ... 'Power people' in their funky jungle leotards!!

 

Hey Zen, Good iddidy about starting a Carlos thread. I have one of Florindas books called "Being in Dreaming" I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't know that the three disappeared. Interesting. There is such controversy over whether his books were truth. I remember I had some VERY interesting dreams as I was reading his stuff. And some strange encounters. Wish I had written the dreams down.....

 

I frankly felt like the tensegrity stuff was BS, and I sort of lost interest in Carlos to some extent at that point. And I've read about a lot of the controversy, and frankly I started thinking Carlos really WAS a lying phoney. But I've had some time for all those thoughts to settle into my mind, and revisiting the subject on Sunday I started thinking, "Yeah, obviously they were lying about a bunch of things - but they were ALL doing it, and they were doing it so WELL." And it strikes me that the way Carlos described being treated by his sorcerer-teachers and they way he and the witches were acting toward the public seems a real lotl like the way my spirit guides treated me - in Carlos' terminology, they were "stalking" me, and they were superb actors and knew exactly how to manipulate me into situations - just as Carlos' teachers did with him. So I can't just dismiss Carlos.

Anyway maybe I'll start that thread, when I get more time and energy.

The discussions here are fascinating, but it's hard for me to keep up and participate as much as I'd like in my circumstances [*sigh*].

 

Well, I don't know what tensegrity is...didn't get that far I guess. There is alot of controversy about Carlos Zen, but as you say, they were ALL lying. Even Don Juan himself always introduced himself by a different name and life he was leading. In Being in Dreaming when Florinda first met Carlos, he and his friend both lied about who they were. This person I told you about in my PMs, well, things don't add up with him alot of the time either. Anyway, neither can I dismiss Carlos. I don't think of truth OR lie when I read him. I know my mind was opened and I learned alot.

 

Yeah Windy, that's the other thing - so many of the principles he states are right on.

You know I just had a sort of crazy thought - what if Carlos and his cohorts were "stalking" humanity through their books and workshops...

Well I'm thinking about that lottery - coming up in about half an hour, innit?

 

Wasn't Carlos supposed to initiate another nagual to carry on? Hmmmm. And yes the lottery is at 9 and I'm just focusing on winnin' hehe...They won't post the results til around 10:30...If I'm still awake I'll give you a yay or nay...My son sent me a "money angel" through the internet. I put her on my desktop for luck...

I was thinking yesterday how i sometime dream the experiences of 'other' people ... things that happen to them, not me, so to speak. But now you say 'nobody picked the correct numbers' i wonder who 'nobody' is in the context of your dream? You had that dream for a reason ... i guess it's a spiritual lottery and your numbers have come up.
I had a strange evening at the computer last night. Smoked some weed for the first time in a while (weed and tobacco have been a big issue for a long time ...since a teenager and i've been breaking somewhat with those habits in the last year) ... remembered some things i'd forgotten, had some great insights, wrote a really great post which turned into whole essay and had to scrap it because i lost the high and it didn't make sense anymore LOL. In the past it's taken psychadelics to get me into a state like that.
But i felt my numbers came up last night. Such an experience, .. just a feeling and knowing of oneness. I laughed and cried. Although enlightenment or 'a knowledge that we are god ...everything and nothing' is our natural state, we never 'fell' or split from god in that we never really became 'separate'. We've been with god all this time doing a totally natural thing ... waking up to who we REALLY are after our birth into form and 'duality'. Just evolution.
