how do people actually make money doing art?

I completely suck at anything artsy, so I probably try and make some money out of it.

 

They sell their art.
Or posters.
etc.

Tonnes of sites for it.

 

its really difficult these days since artists aren't in high demand and everyone thinks they're an artist just look at www.DeviantArt.com....

i know a teacher that whould probably buy crap of me

 

i've got 16 finished painting. i'd probably be willing to part with 12 of them. ebay? local galleries? i have no clue. they'll probably all be worth millions once i'm dead.

 

My favorite art teacher told me that I have to be arrogant about my work. Most people don't like my drawings.....but I really don't give a shit.

 

It seems to me they have to be mainstream.

 

Make a name for yourself, or go to the rich areas of the world and set up shop.

There's this place in san jose california called Santana row it's a strange place where really rich people live....like hockey players and what-not...

that's where my friends and I have made the most money.

 

The father of my little sister's best friend is an artist, he paints, and he's ultra poor in France right now while when he used to live in Brazil he would be well-off just selling his paintings..
