Here's one Lornadoom and Mr. Writer perhaps can enjoy : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cshu2nDJGZ4 edit: man, megadeth... so boring!
Yeah? Why'd you like it then?! :-D I love wake up dead! Best track yet in this thread! Did you know Dave Mustaine is now a born again christian?! lol
I like the post, but not the band or their music. Yes, I know (I even think I saw Megadeth live after that happened) Good for him I guess (hope). I never liked their songs, style and particular subgenre. Did you listen to the burning saviour song? It has some great highlights (incl. the 2 minute groovy outro) Agreed. I see it the same. edit: It also seems that often those life agendas aren't that different. Just 'put in a different frame' so to speak.
Dude, that's all there was to my post. lol From 7:47 on. Yeah, I like it. Who cares though? Back on topic: You still like to pull religions dick! LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsvFyEsBPh8
Well, I guess I just liked that you posted it. I like that you shared what you like. Why am I explaining this? :-D That pleases me Agreed. I just thought that culture (incl. filthy rock 'n roll ) really did help me find my beliefs.
:-D Thanks for sharing, and caring. lol I'm deeply touched. Your goodly godly ones? So spill your latest on the big cheese! :-D I promise to laugh!
Just indirectly in most cases of course. It's not like I agree with every line of a good Pentagram or Black Sabbath song and defintely not with the overall messages of black metal. But all those music inspired me to think and got me intrigued in other viewpoints and the why and how of my thoughts and beliefs and those of others.
How can you critizcise atheists or other beliefs if you are not even willing to read the objections or posts? Talk about a close minded sham.
If you think I have time to sit and read a wall of text then you're incorrect, sir. Once upon a time I may have had a sophisticated argument with you about it, but those times are long gone, that girl has long passed. She realizes that not everybody has to share the same thoughts and beliefs. And she realizes her own precious time is best spent doing the things she enjoys. Which is not spending 20 minutes trying decipher somebody else's dribbles she ain't gone agree with anyway. Sum that shit it up in a few sentences.
Here's something to blow your mind. Not everyone is in these threads to criticize other peoples beliefs
That feels like left over baggage from another thread or partly directed at someone else because no where did I state or even imply that.
We all seem to take in account what was said in other threads and I see it influences what people say in newer threads all the time, but no it wasn't primarily the case here. Look, she said I am not going to read all that. You reacted with: How can you criticize atheists or other beliefs if you are not willing to read the objections or posts? As if she is primarily focussing on that in these threads. But she's not, others are I don't wanna talk for her (and if I do so in a way that seems wrong I be happily corrected) but I will continue with it this time because this is the specific example: she only started giving a critical opinion on an atheist/other people's beliefs after she was triggered to do so with reactions like these: At first she was just sharing her thoughts, like about what the big deal is when people actually find religion You can reread if you like. Sooo. when that went on she thanked for the pleasure of continuing this convo. Then she get accused of being a coward, and asked of how else can she criticize other people's beliefs. While she even said that despite of her dislike of an institionalized religion as christianity: So I didn't really saw the point of your question (other than for people who are actually busy with such criticism), in fact you posing it as such and Writer calling her a coward for saying I don't play along with that is what's sad and dishonest. And I don't need any other thread for that to point that out (but if I would drag other threads into it, it would only affirm what I said here)
I reread...her snide remarks towards atheists and 'deniers' was post 29, the Fierce Flower retort wasn't til post 32.. Was there a point to your previous post or was it just some meaningless, irrelevant statement to make an in to defend irminsul? I don't really follow what the intension was of that post. My question is trying to understand how one can reconcile attacking other paradigms and beliefs with strong opinions and views if they are unwilling to examine how they arrive at their own views, when they are scrutinized. It takes a certain level of critical thought to be able to defend and analyze views in such a way but for those of us who value logically consistent and rational discussion, it's a borderline necessity. I hope you are not suggesting that prompting critical thinking is sad and dishonest.
Religion is far from God. Religion is man's attempt to define God. None of the religious books were written by God. Jews Christians and Muslims all claim to worship the God of Abraham. And they kill each other in God's name. The Christians came to the New World to escape the tyranny of the Catholic church, which killed thousands that didn't capitulate to Catholic dogma. The New World Christians committed genocide on the Native Americans, from Canada to all of South America. The Muslims are now doing what the Catholic church did, beheading and burning at the stake all those that don't align with the Sunni or Shiite brand of Islam. The Jews are doing to the Palestinians what the Germans did to them. Israel was been a stolen land since Moses. And supposedly God told the Jews to steal the land and kill the owners....after commanding "Thou shall not kill". Anyone that buys into those religions is not seeking the truth. Killing is negative. God is positive, God only creates. Evil is negative, negative destroys. Positive and negative are not interchangeable.
