How do you feel about the forums lately?

L&S has a lot of repetition right now. It is mostly new members weighing in on topics that have been discussed to death. Boring.

 

Greengirl,,Bulgaria? My son just toured Bulgaria with his college classical guitar group. They started in Sofia, went to Varna, Dobritch, Plovdiv, etc etc,,,quite a few towns.

He's in Italy now with some of his friends, camping out. They tried the hostels, but found too many bedbugs.

 

the forums arent terribly exciting right now but i dont exactly contribute all that much anyway. i should start making some threads or something but i feel too much pressure when i do. when they arent popular i get suicidal.

What makes a popular thread?

I once started a thread about thinking there is too many ethnic people on TV.
Potentially the biggest fail ever witnessed on the Hip Forums.
It got a good response.
You just don't know.

 

How hard is it to donate to this site and become a member?

 

It would need to be a little controversial,

humourous,

contain some tits (or GTFO! :rofl,

and be interesting, imho.

 

Actually, very easy with a credit card or checking account, and it's not too terribly expensive.

Same here. And Skip's told me before paypal is the only way to pay if you're outside the US.

You don't have to have a PayPal account to use PayPal. They allowed me to set up a one-time transaction to pay the $15 here. It was fast and easy. If I want to pay another $15 next year, I will have to do it manually again. That seems very safe to me.

 

What would make a really really really interesting thread that went on for ages and everyone contributed to and always had new shit in it?

Because I want to see one of those.

I've decided against it.
I decided not to become a member.
I realised that I had started a thread about not being able to put a person on ignore if they have a personal forum.
If I became a member this is what I surely would do.
I don't see any other advantages other than that.
So if I became a member and created a forum...nobody would be able to put me on ignore.
Therefore making me a hypocrite.

 

They were the best. Although, I got to say that I also go through moods of my own and - though the forums look the same - sometimes I'm just not in the mood for it. My addiction is sort of waning, but that's because of slow changes in the direction my life, more generally.
