See, this is exactly why I told myself to keep my mouth shut about Religion, and Politics, lol.

But no, there I was (on a Sunday) thinking it would be a good idea to try and earn that church membership I got 30+ years ago (and never used).

So now the spotlight is on me to answer questions, once again.

You know just as much as I do about all of this.

I'm a sinner, and I know it. I just try to do enough good things (when I can) to possibly get at least one foot in Heavens Gate to offset all of my sinning, lol.

God is us. It is a representation created by the energy of mankind. In my opinion, it doesnt exist as something physical, or even just metaphysical. It is a concept that man created to explain the world, both the one he sees and the one he can only feel. God exists through mankind, just like beauty only exists through mankind too: we qualify that something is beautiful. If it wasn't for us, it would just be. Nature knows no beauty, ugliness, goodness or wickedness.

 

Well said, although I wouldn't call us God myself I agree with what you say here!

 

Thanks Asmodean. I have to admit that calling mankind seems a bit odd, because of all the evil we are able to do and our natural instinct to domination (which will probably lead to our self-destruction, but I'm getting off topic). That's because God is traditionnally associated with something great and positive - even when it gets angry. To me, God is more like energy, neither good nor bad. And that's the reason why we are "God".

 

We have created God in our own image, not the other way around.

When people want something badly enough, some will imagine it to be true. A lot of people want a god who understands and cares about us, on a personal level. Quite honestly, it's hard to find even one person who truly cares about us as we are. If you find that one special person, you had better hang on with everything you've got.

My perception of "God" would be that God is everything that exists.

Sad to say, but today "God" is used to control the masses. Culture has made it this way. "God" forbid I go in public where I live and announce that I'm not christian!

God is a " loving" father-figure ready to punish us with hell.
