The MAGA crazies are crawling out of the woodwork and I'd bet there will be other incidents. Fortunately it appears the movement is subsiding. In fact anti-MAGA sentiment is one of the factors that prevented the red wave. Hopefully by 2024 the GOP will consider Trump to be unelectable and relegate him to a supporting role. Problem with that is, he could still do considerable damage. The Dems need to come up with a good candidate who can beat whoever the Republicans throw at us.
Well, he should have had Trump signs in his yard and a MAGA flag on his truck... and a little red hat.
BAD NEWS!! LATEST: Lauren Boebert maintains lead over Adam Frisch in Colorado's 3rd CD as vote count continues | Elections | coloradopolitics.com
Doesn’t make any sense because in order to change the 26th amendment you’d need two-thirds majority vote in both the House and Senate, Doesn't seem like a sound strategy to me
It was indeed backlash from the Vietnam War draft that helped lower the voting age to 18. "Old enough to fight but not old enough to vote!" was the rallying cry. And this time the backlash would be even greater if the GOP tries to overturn it.
Some good news! The Democrats now have 49 seats in the Senate! One more and they have the majority since Kamala Harris presides! And in the races for the House the Dems have increased to 203 seats while the Republicans have been stuck at 211 for a while! We're gaining ground! Even if the GOP gains the majority it will be a small majority, and I don't think they'll be quite as partisan in their votes this time! Let's hope there's more good news when we get up in the morning!
It's still 49/49 Senate and 203/211 House! Christ, the election was 4 days ago and the counting still isn't done in some of them! Is this the shortage of poll workers we heard about?
Some of it is the shortage... Not sure about the states in question now but some states don't count mail in before election day. They get counted after, which is totally idiotic. each state handles things differently. "State's Rights" and all that shit.
The Dems now have 50 seats in the Senate so they keep the majority. They're at 204 in the House while the GOP is still at 211. Hope we speed up the vote counting process so we don't have to go through this in 2024!
Now that the Democrats have held the Senate there’s no motivation for Republicans in Georgia to vote in the run-off which should help Senator Raphael Warnock win re-election
