Also CHIP is children's health insurance for families with low income. They are making people's tobacco more expensive and providing children with free health care. The low income population also has more children than the higher income people. So the way I see it, in the end it all works out.
i dont have kids, why should i have to pay for the support of someone elses child? if ya cant afford insurance for your kid then perhaps you shouldnt be having babies...oh but that would be just to simple of a solution wouldnt it?
a estimated 7% will quit smoking all together, 14% will cut back, causing massive layoffs in the tobacco industry culminating in washing out the extra tax revenue between the two is what i am reading..
think about it: you're taking away capital from person A (group of individuals) for the purpose of subsidizing a commodity for group B. now couple that with the gov't intervention of the market and raising the price well above what it would be in a true free market; the distortion of the price for those goods. now the gov't has to calculate the necessary resources it will need for this new program, so they go ahead with false calculations from the beginning and come up with a false answer to the resources needed. so you're never going to get the necessary resources for it to work correctly. you are forcing person A to pay for group B. you are transferring capital from person A to group B, where person A could have used his capital for future means of production, future means of employment, future leisure. not only are you reducing the level of income and consumption of person A for the benefit of group B, you are reducing future incentive to produce, which in the end also lowers future income and consumption.
I don't smoke. I did for a while when I was younger, for about five years. If I smoked today I would probably roll my own because the prices are just ridiculous. This ties in with the war on smoking, which can be traced to the United Nations. There is so much bogus nonsense put out there about tobacco. Tobacco in its unadulterated form is nowhere near as unhealthy as the crap they put in the cigarettes. Growing your own is a good idea.
I smoked for 31 years. As far as I'm concerned, if you're going to do something to slowly kill yourself, someone, somewhere should benefit. Fuck smoking.
Haha omg, yea poor Phillip Morris. Whatever are they going to do? And if your going to take the position of being unsupportive of free childrens health care, then I will also lower myself to the level of immorality and say fuck anyone who makes a living working for a company which profits off of a product which is proven to slowly murder the majority of its consumers. Rediculous.
You dont have to, you can grow your own, like you already plan on doing I think having a certain living standard benefits everybody in the end. That includes health care for everybody. Our only purpose on this planet is to procreate, having no money, is not really going to stop people from having kids. I mean Im not saying that having 5 kids when you cant afford them is a smart thing, but people will have kids no matter what. After all, we're just animals. Not having health care for families who cant afford them, will just result in a lot of sick kids everywhere.
I like to smoke cigars. I smoke more in the summer than the winter but if I could smoke one cigar a week I would be just fine.
You should come live in Pennsylvania. Wine & Spirits will not be allowed for privitized sale, so taxes are raised any good ol' time they want for illegitimate reasons. Plus, try asking one of the employees at a state store any question other than "What aisle is this in?" or "How much does this cost?" if you want a good laugh.
actually it was the internet addiction that first drew us together. There you were... across the forum.... crafting another witty post.....
It's a dirty job but you'll wait all day for HHB and PressedRat to do it when they're busy with the He-Man Obama Haters Club... And you and that smile in every post that moans "I want you more than a TH eclair dipped in Dove dark..."
