I have more dormers, facing north, west, and east.. its like mad with windows..Im telling ya. and when the stink bugs came it was like heaven to them. they found every window..
I have a few boarded up for winter from the inside. I just want them all to be new and not have to do that. oh and I lost my keys tonight and had to break in on the windows. tbh .. these old gritty windows was keeping me out for a while. trying not to break anything major. finally got a ladder to teh 2nd floor and pushed in a screen.. damn winter and the storm windows are all down. be my luck I just locked them down the other past days..
I have 5. That's one per room... But I have one that doesn't really count because its so small you can see out of it, and its above the bath so you actually have to stand up on the bath to reach it - I use it to smoke out of, but I'm too short to see out of it, plus the glass is glazed/fuzzy because its in the bathroom
I usually leave a window open just in case this happens. I lost mine, too, the other week. That particular day I closed it. Doh.
Why Don't You Guys Just Do What I Have For The Last 28 Years. Coat A Set Of Keys With Vasaline, Put Them In A Screw Top Glass Jar, And Hide It In A Garden Bed, That Way You Can Never Be Locked Out, And Should You Ever Take Ill Or Have A Car Wreck, A Friend Can Feed Your Pets For You And Your Mail Will Be On The Dining Room Table When You Get Home.... Cheers Glen.
I live in an apartment and have two windows. Both are picture windows, one in the living room and one in the bedroom.
I have thought about that - never got around to doing it : / I would wonder why I would need to coat them with vaseline, though : ? Is it so they don't go rusty?
I give my spare keys (after I finally got them back, yay) to my mum, she lives 5 minutes walk away. I locked myself and my toddler out a few months back (before I got my spare keys back) and it was raining heavily so I had to walk to my tattoo shop and ask one of the guys to help me. Luckily one of them lives in the same block as me and was used to breaking into his flat so we were in with no damage in about 5 minutes. Which also scared me as to how easy my flat is to break into
you made me flashback to when my grandma had an appt. it was like that also.. 2windows,, living room and bedroom also.,. :sunny:
I was actually surprised when I heard someone yelling "Burglar Burglar" while i was climbing on the roof my own house.
I wish mine was that easy sometimes. It took a screw driver, a knife and an hour of my time and patience to get into mine. After 45 minutes I wish I'd had a TV at hand.
I Forgot To Add, Get A Jar With A Plastic Cap, The Tin Ones Are Very Thin And Only Last A Few Months Before They Rust Out.... Cheers Glen.
This reminds me of what happened to my little sister. She was coming home from school but forgot her keys so had to kick the back gate in my dads garden open and find the spare key which opened the back door leading to the garden. Her neighbour called the police thinking she was a burglar and they turned up about 20 minutes later asking my 14 year old sister for proof that she lived there I found it hilarious, she wasn't so happy about it though because she was asked our dads DOB and had no idea what it was lol.
