News from across Missouri: Falsely accused man seeks restitution from state SPRINGFIELD | Falsely accused man seeks restitution from state A Seymour man is demanding restitution from the state after being jailed for more than 21 months for a rape he never committed. Armand Villasana, then living in Springfield, was convicted in 1999 of kidnapping Judith Ann Lummis from a Sonic Drive-In, then raping and sodomizing her at knifepoint. Seven months later, he was exonerated when his defense attorneys presented evidence showing that the DNA didn’t match Villasana. Lummis acknowledged in 2007 that she made up the rape story to cover up an extramarital affair. Villasana is seeking $11,250 for the 225 days between his conviction on Nov. 10, 1999, and his June 21, 2000, release. | The Associated Press

I think this may be the docket on his case. https://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/cases/searchDockets.do you will need to type in his name and then it should pull up all of the cases that he has had. that one doesnt work try this one. https://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/cases/header.do you guys are on your own trying to figure out how to find the docket, it wont let me link directly to it.
i'd say it makes sense depending on the crime. for example, it really wouldn't make sense to jail me now for getting drunk when i was 13. although in the case at hand, it serves no purpose whatsoever
