id say if ur cat comes up to u while ur smoking and u blow the smoke on its face, and it doesnt get annoyed or leave, than they probably dont mind. if they get agitated and doesnt want smoke blown in his face (who would?) then its probably best not to do it.

If you blow smoke in a cats face its still going to breathe through its nose, and not deep breaths either. that smokes just going to go straight to their brain and give them a headache.

ok get this. These friends of mine I had about 4 years ago used to get their cats high. there was like 3 cats. For a while they used to put them in this box with a hole in the top. They'd take a couple of fat rips, blow it in there and close it off for about 10 minutes, then let the kitties out. I just went to that same house about 9 months ago and all they have to say is 'wanna get high' and the cats jump in the box all on their own. It kinda tripped me out, but I guess the cats wana get stoned now right? 2nd hand smoke yea but they fog out the box lol.

    IT IS NOT SAFE!!!
That's how that urban legend got created that cats suffocate babies! Because some dumb ass stoner got the kitty high and it was sooo baked it mistook a babies delicate angelic face for a kitten bed. And WAZAAM. Dead baby.
    DON'T DO IT!!!

I however, have to disagree that a cat can't announce his displeasure. I have 3, and the eldest has been known to express his displeasure with a rottie/boxer mix by trying to shred her face off before I could get the two separated.

anyone that says a cat can't make its displeasure known evidently hasn't met any of my cats. They have claws and teeth, and know how to use them. However, if I'm packing a bowl and the cat goes fishing in my bag, snags a bud and runs away with it to eat it, I'm going to assume he wants it, especially if he swats at me when I try to take it away from him. Same with trimming leaves...if I'm cutting and the cat comes up, sticks his nose in the bowl of trim and starts snarfing away, I'm going to go under the assumption that he wants some. However, I've never forced my cats to breathe smoke, nor have I ever 'forcefed' them any. My eldest, mr 'I'm going to eat the dog', doesn't like pot, and couldn't care less. my middle boy, the ocd cat, if he wants some, I'll let him have it. I've talked to a couple of vets, and here's what I was told

1- there's no toxicity for felines and pot
2- they 'DO' have THC receptors in their brains
3- if they want it, it won't hurt them, but don't try and make them take it.

so those are the guidelines I've worked with.

I think that animals have a very clear ability to say they disapprove of something, like the guy earlier that got scratches all over his arms...that was his stupidity for trying to force the cat. But that also comes to the point of how many people have had cats that have been able to make clear requests for something they wanted?

Ever have a cat decide it wants you to open the door? My cats, if I don't oblige, will try and open the door themselves, which is a pretty clear indicator that they 'want' the door open.

But that takes us into the debate of whether 'lower' animals have intelligence, decision-making abilities, problem solving abilities and preferences, which, the evidence I've observed (empirical as it is) says they do.

But then again, I'd give my cats 'problem solving puzzles' as kittens, to see if it'd boost their overall intelligence, and it seems to have done so. The eldest has learned to turn taps for clean water, open doors if he has a place to stand, stack items to have things to stand on, much the same order as a small, less dexterous monkey...or a young child.

At the risk of anthropomorphizing them, I find them engaging in activities that shows the ability to think, at least in a basic way, and even plan certain activities or work out basic puzzles.

That's actually really bad, yea it does get them super stoned super quick, but for cats and basically any other animal having smoke blown directly into your ear like that is really bad for it.

My cat runs away when I blow smoke at him, but when I had a vape I would blow the vapor at him, he would smell at it, and stare at me for more.

I haven't read this entire thread, so I don't know if anybody has suggested just giving your cat catnip to eat. It's the natural way to go. So if you want to be stoned with your cat- feed it catnip before you toke up. And then the two of you will be stone together.
