LOL great, now we have a "proper etiquette" troll... what's with all these "steps" and stuff??? site already has guidelines that cover all of this.
Not everyone that slightly disagrees with your posts or opposes you in discussion hates you or even mildly dislikes you. My pals and I shout and argue with each other all the time, but we're still friends. Not to mention, somebody that opposes you in one thread, often completely agrees and supports you in another thread. People are different, learn to live with it and you'll enjoy life a lot more.
Since you don't know these people and they don't know you, why take what they say seriously? And how do you tell a troll from a poster with strong opinions or mental problems? I get impatient with the kind of troll who engages in doubletalk or nonsene. If I think a poster might be serious about a provocative thought, I generally take them seriously and respond in kind. There's a guy on these forums who says that because my opinions differ from his, I'm a Zionist agent and/ or conspirator determined to undermine the foundations of U.S. democracy. Is he a troll or just a nutjob? I take the time to respond. as an exercise in organizing my thoughts and a service to other readers who might take him seriously.
