Hair grows there for a reason...Why fight it, you'll just end up losing or end up stubbly...

    LET IT GROW!

I pretty much wear what I wear. No matter what I wear, people still call me an "earth mother" for some reason. Usually jeans and some kind of top, mostly made, some bought. I'm just me and that's the way this gray haired hippie dresses.

Sometimes long flowing skirts, natural materials, tie dye, feathers, flowers, paisley prints, jeans, lots of jewellery, headbands or scarfs, bandanas, and in winter quirky knitted hats, old hand knit jumpers (maybe stretched a bit), woolen ponchos, comfortable shoes, colorful socks or black tights under dresses, stuff you find in second-hand stores or op-shops. Hair in braids or dreads or long and parted in the middle, small round sunglasses, bags and accessories from Tibet or India or South America. Incence-type perfume like patchouli, jasmine etc. Ankle bracelets, toe rings, crystal rings.

:) Many would say i don't really dress hippy alot of the time but it's your attitude and your energy that make you a hippy...
I would and will enjoy dressing more alternative once i have the money to go and buy some more cool clothes. I, as many on this site wanted my hair dreaded but i'm having my doubts on whether it'd suit me and whether it'd come out right... i may just leave it as it is.
I have long n what may be described as blonde hair (personally i feel it's brown!) n i think i may just leave it to grow...
Oh and as for shaving, yes i do shave my underarms, legs n... well ya know as i feel uncomfortable otherwise but i have no problem with other ladies out there not doing so, although is it really healthy to have sweaty, hairy armpits? lolxxx:p

RAR1013- great photos, don't know whether you look hippy or not, but you are gorgeous- pretty face, great individualistic dress sense, slim + dig those sexy hairy pits (glad you don't shave legs, etc either, it's so organically real+ earthily sexy)

well ill tell you what i wear... jeans (usually written on by my firends! :-D ) tye dye... band tees (sublime bob marley) anything really... clogs... necklaces.. (i have five hemp ones on right now!) anklets... skirts if its warm enough.. i usually make mine (tye dye em or patchworkish ones... or just plain COLORFUL ones) i wear some brown eyeliner sometimes and ALWAYS glitter.. right now my hair is red and green (for christmas) but normally its blonde... umm... i wear patchulli just because it smells SOOOO wonderful, otherwise a sunflowery/florally scent, or nothing...

i just wear whats COMFORTABLE!!! thats the key to it all

    this is stereotypical.....

    big skirt, indian/psycedelic print
loose, flowing shirt, sandals, flowers onthe hair, head-band, bracelets, no make-up, hemp jewwlry

but, obviously, i know better... you dont have to dress like that at all to be a hippie!

I think.... Its what ever you fell confertable in weather it maches or not. It dousent matter if it older than you with holes on every inch of it. As long as you like it and fell confertable in it

my form: ummm.. geez...laundry day... what's clean and doesn't clash too painfully?
as for the pits, is it healthy to scrape you skin daily and slather it with aluminum chloride?

I haven't been shopping in ages, so right now my wardrobe consists of bellbottoms with colorful inserts, other jeans, brown cords, assorted band shirts (Phish, Ben Folds, Velvet Underground, etc,) no underwear ;), two pairs of socks, a year-old grey sweatshirt, and sandals for all weather (my shoes have massive holes, so what's the difference?) Some would call me a hippy of the dirty persuasion, but I am really very clean :D

stereotypical hippie there isnt such thing. In my opinion a "hippie" is such who dances to their own beat, wear clothes which are cheapest, most comfy, and easiest to recycle reuse etc. I spose in terms of what narrow minded people would percieve as a hippy, tiedye shirts, flowy pants, long unkept hair, beads, lota jewlerry, unshaken bare foot, um yeah.
