Sorry. I just don't understand the need to hug my friends when I see them. For one...none of them deserve it
You're male. It's not gay for me to hug my friends. Honestly, most of my male friends'll hug a girl but not a guy. *shrugs* They just don't.
I know it may shock you, but I do have female friends. I don't hug them. It does not seem like a natural thing to do... It does feel like a trend. A few years ago it was a trend to greet your friends with a complicated handshake...like you were some gangsta. It probably stills goes on. Like hugging your friends...it is totally pointless. It just seems an OTT way of greeting a friend. If it were a natural thing to do, and didn't really mean much, but a friendly welcome, then men would hug their male friends. But, generally they don't. Don't you think men just do it because they want contact with a female?
For me, I like my friends so I'll hug them. It's usually preceded by 'I love you' so... Yeah. I don't hug everyone, it's just to show your friends you care. I guess. It must be different for most people. Once, 2 years ago, my friend hugged me so hard I started crying, partly from laughter, and when she let go I fell over because I couldn't stand up. My legs couldn't. That was freakin' hilarious. EDIT: I'm not saying that everyone should go round hugging their friends, but it's not pointless.
I like my friends too. I would not go as far as saying I love them. I can appreciate it might be a sweet thing to do. But to me it is just not original. It just seems like a fad. I guess you should focus on this line: I can appreciate it might be a sweet thing to do.
I know. I'm just focusing on predominantly western teenagers hugging their friends though. I've noticed Japenese teenagers doing the same thing too. Maybe it is a teenage thing and is completely lost on me.
I remember going to an 18th party for some private school twit. And the guys and the girls danced in a "politically correct" way. Sort of arms round each other facing but no other contact of bodies - only heads/arms etc. I mean what a fucking load of shit....!!
I'm sorry, but you should be killed for putting politically correct into quotes. Heck, you should be killed for saying politically correct.
i can't trust that article after reading the first sentence: "For teens, there is no greater joy than graduating high school." hell, i had several greater joys than that, and i didn't even have sex.
