I won't argue with you because it's pointless and off-topic. Buddhism isn't violent "by nature" at all. Research before you post.

    Back on topic...

What I've been saying has been echoing all over the Internet.

Those beliefs mentioned above are common to nearly ALL CHRISTIANS, whether they go to church or not. They are the essence of Christian beliefs meant to isolate and divide Christians from other people, and to cause friction between religious groups, and lastly to ignore the impact their actions have upon others and the earth since the "end is at hand", so who cares?

Christians do NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY for their actions since they are "saved". But times are changing and just as the Catholic Church is finally owning up to its own responsibility for covering the child abuse in their own churches, every individual Christian must own up to their own responsibility for spreading hate, intolerance, selfishness, etc. all in the name of Jesus.

No you WON'T EVER BE 'SAVED' if you don't own up to your responsibilities, which also include calling your fellow Christians to account for the wars and intolerance they have fostered.

Could you? I would like to discuss it. Skip doesn't want us to discuss it here.

I am getting kinda lost in this thread. What is the point you want to make Skip?
I mean, doesnt every relegion think they are superior to others, the only exception maybe being buddhism. Although there are probably some ppl practising buddhism who also think they are superior.

It is important to distinguish between theistic religions and non-theistic ones. Taoism, confucianism, and buddhism are good examples of non-theistic religions. Personally, I would lump hinduism in with this group, despite it having numerous deities, simply because of the nature of its messages, and it isn't Abrahamic, which are the religions usually associated with aggressive conversion tactics.

The main differences between the two kinds of religions is that theistic ones tend to preach conversion and intolerance of other religions (Or rather, other deities.) For example, there is nothing in the way of being an atheist buddhist. There is plenty of info about this on the Internet, if you care to look.

Of course there are buddhists who think they are superior. Just like there are muslims and christians who feel perfectly equal to all humans, regardless of their particular belief. That is not a fault of the particular set of beliefs, however, rather a result of the combination of social/cultural conditioning, personal reflection, and a host of other factors.

However, all of this is terribly off-topic. To be on topic, Skip, I would be grateful if you could update the OP with the new, actual numbers released by Norwegian officials: 68 dead in the shooting, 8 dead in the bombing. Some are still missing, apparently, but I can't find a number anywhere.

Meanwhile, in the streets of Norwegian cities yesterday, public transportation and, indeed, traffic at large was put to a grinding halt as hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in candle vigils, leaving oceans of flowers in various spots.

Breivik's attorney has pleaded insanity. No surprise there.

Anonymous has hacked Anders Breivik's Twitter account. They want him, and his 1500 page manifesto to be forgotten quickly, and have asked people to do the following...

    Bravo Anonymous!
