    Yeah.....I do.....have Finnish roots....
    Finland is not really a Scandinavian country, though....
    Tough little country.....I know that. Tough people....very tough.....

    alcohol...? I cannot handle it...It makes me drunk and depressed for days afterwards, wondering what the hell I said to anyone...lol

    I find Finnish to be very much like the Polish with the Slavic cultural influences they take from the Russians. I have never been to Finland, though. Sweden a few times but never made the border.

    Being depressed for days is also a finnish characteristic, hence the alcohol. The Sami seem relatively happy.. a lot of them are chronicly migrating with their herds, maybe there's a connection (back on topic, yay!) :biggrin:

    I admire Asian cultures where a nation is over 95% of their national culture.
    I once heard Japan is roughly 97% Japanese.

    most of the people who are forced to migrate from one nation to another within the western hemisphere are native to the western hemisphere, while most of the people objecting to their doing so, emigrated here from europe.

    Finish language group is Finnegan. Same origin with Estonian, Hungarian, Turkish and many Siberian tribes.

    Sweden, Norway, Denmark are another group. (anglosax...)

    Life close to Russia never been easy - wars...

    Finnegan language group is more vocalic than consonantic. It's very singable.
