17 dead. This idiot thinks it's about politics and gay rights. http://perezhilton.com/2012-10-30-hurricane-sandy-barack-obama-mitt-romney-gays-blamed#.UI_l52_Aeo4
Somehow my dorm room wasn't flooded but some of the instrument rooms were down in the conservatory. The whole campus lost power for a good 12 hours at least and the backup generator exploded. And I'm more than 100 miles from the shore.
You are absolutely right about that. And I am paying for it at the moment. But damn, how did you know? Or did you just assume?
Body count has jumped up to 33 9 out of 10 times the storm would have continued up the coast instead of taking that freakish jog to the left and we would have been hit head on :hide: hotwater
A thread last night where you had a post saying you were falling asleep drunk at the keyboard. It was the bees knees.
haha you drunken bastard you said you wanted meth last night because you were drunk and falling asleep at the keyboard
Sandy also killed 69 people in the Caribbean. http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/10/hurricane_sandys_us_death_toll.html
The picture of the subway was unbelievable. Just full where the tracks are and a few feet deep on the platform. This cleanup is going to take a while and cost a bundle. It's a shame people have to die in these situations. Mama's a bitch sometimes.
so how are you all doing now? i think it's crazy that a hurricane is hitting the northeast like it is. is it going all the way to pennsylvania? did it hit michigan? and i know that most of you people up there are not used to storms like this. they just dont go up that far.
A lot of that depends on where they hit and when. We had hurricane Ike roar through Ohio several years ago and it was still a Tropical storm at the time. Ike hit Texas and came right up through the middle of the country before turning and heading east. There was a hurricane back in 1938 that took the same path Sandy is taking... Lots of similar damage from that one and no where near the ability to clean up after. It's not typical, but not unheard of.
i grew up in michigan, and the thought of a hurricane hitting it at the time was unimagineable. i would have never thought a hurricane or tropical storm would hit.
