I realize Smokey most likely wasn't on the verge of comitting murder.

I was tryin to calm him (if Smokey is a guy) down.
Emphasizing that getting ripped off is part of growing pot and violence is NOT the solution.
Because violence begats violence.
And by mentioning it's happened to me, lots of times.

This--"If you tolerate being ripped off then you are being raped and don't have the backbone to admit it."--is one of the stupidest things I have ever read.

Simply put, if you can't take getting you pot ripped off you have no business growing it.

Smokey, the only reasonable thing you can do is:
-- re-evaluate your friends, since there's a good chance it was someone you know who did it.
Someone who knew where it was and when it would be unprotected.
Which in a way makes it more of a drag, since most folks like to think they can trust their friends.
If it was someplace where you KNOW it was a "friend" who took it, keep your eyes and ears open. Look for people who are always broke who suddenly have lots of cash, someone who's always mooching weed that suddenly has lots.
Avoid that person like the plague and then in about a year, go to his house and slash his tires, bust out his windshield and paint the word "THIEF" on both sides of his car.
--Tell everyone you know that you've given up on growing weed. Don't stop growing, just tell them you have.

 

And I bet if ol' Sherlock was here he could tie up all the loose ends.

First of all - I don't advocate murder!!! If you, somehow, read that into what I wrote; it's not there - that's not what I meant! You, yourself, talked about some physical violence as being an option - I agree, no more no less. You also suggest that Kharma will provide retribution; I respect your position, especially in light of a possible "range war". If I caught some SOB in flagrante dilecto I can't really say for sure what I'd do, but a can of "Whoop Ass" would certainly be an option. But that's just me! I look at it this way, if the rippers face little or no obstacles or consequences; what's to keep them from proliferating into an infestation?
My comment about being raped was directed at a couple of "Tag-team Looky loos" who had mentioned being raped in prison. It was kind of a play on words! Okay, maybe a bad choice of words - my bad! I guess they were implying that Smokey would really kill the SOB and be sent to prison.
Am I the only one that doesn't rely on Kharma - I doubt it! Obviousely I'm the only one who is willing to say so!!! Most of us don't live in the Emerald Triangle and don't risk a range war to get stirred up. I think certain issues are best left as points of disagreement!!!

Bottom line: if you steal your gonna get caught.
The only people that will have anything to do with you are other low-life thiefs, and you will spend lots of time in prison, getting your ass reamed (maybe you like that; maybe that's your goal).
