Yes, like I said, my main reason for running is to give people an alternative, but I also will run based on my ideas.

I'm not going to sling mud (unless I am attacked first), but I am going to run and have fun doing it. :)

well you know there will be mud slung if you get any popularity going..

somethin tells me some folks in your district would be shocked to learn some of the "dirt" one could most likely dig up on ya..

dont get me wrong, i aint sayin the way you appear (at least from reading your posts on here over the years) to live your life, your beliefs etc. are wrong or bad,im just sayin,,well you know what im sayin,, i think.. ;)

Hmm... this sounds like a fun enough idea.

Unless the other representative actually wants to win... and he'll probably just threaten to kill your wife or something to make you drop out if you're actually posing a threat to him.

    Pretty world.

    Anyhow, have fun :)

Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying.

This is one reason that I'll probably lay low and remove all my photos from the Internet during the campaign.

The attachments to my real name aren't as "extreme" as my Libertine character.

Thus, by eliminating any reason to sling mud, all they will have is whatever they know of me in the area and where I worked.

Then again, I ain't ashamed of my views...it's just that I am a bit extreme for most people's taste around our area. But, you know that. :D ha ha...

Yeah... so you might want to be careful. I'm sure those backwoods Georgia cops could easily turn their back on the local hippy's house burning down for some beer money.

Indeed. Luckily, the Sheriff and I are pretty close friends and he is a Democrat.

I have connections in the county. A lot of them, but the other county which is in my district is much larger and is where my opponent is from. So, he has more financial backing.

I'm kind of like the "token" liberal here, I suppose. Almost like Jack Nicholson's character in "Easy Rider" (only I am not a lawyer and I don't expect to be beaten to death by baseball bats in a sleeping bag in Louisiana).

My father and my uncle are huge names in this county and have a large backing, only I am the black sheep of my family, so he may not support me either. :D ha ha...

    ROFL!!! :D Ok!

Hey, Hippie Hillbilly, for some reason they have our county linked with Gordon. I think it was the whole Republican re-districting mess, they pulled on us a few years back.

Good luck there Libertine. You might want to run on some of those demographics. What I mean is you should play up the fact that the median income of the district has DECLINED since 2000.

It also looks like you've got a relatively young demographic, so you should try appealing to younger people, as your opponent is a grandfather. (not sure how old you are, but i'm betting younger than your opponent).

Stress the need for change and a younger perspective. Young people are NOT into voting for old people these days.

Yes, I am working with a certain element of the population.

The good news is that before this dude, a man around 29 was our Rep., but he was a Republican puppet. The last Democrat was before him and was an older man.

I will be 33 in 2008. Thus, I think I am the perfect age to round it out.

Libertine, you are EXACTLY the average age of your constituents, 33!

That bodes good for you! :)

Hey maybe what we forumers need to do is all move into the same district! Then we can easily elect our own person to represent us! ;)

Are you sure you don't want to run for President? Oh, you've gotta wait two more years (35 is the minimum age)...

I was gonna say I'm sure we can drum up the stoner vote for you!

Another idea - Get FedupAmerican to interview you on his Internet radio show. Then you can link to it from your site!
