The highest wisdom is that which you already know.
It is within the genetic make up of your organic material
    body.
The delusion of duality is brought on by seperation from
the innocence of childhood, the influence of others who
attempt to teach but in actuality have no idea where
they are headed, and the development of the ego.

It is when we really care that we find it hardest to love indiscriminately.

Our highest wisdom is not that which we already know, but that which we love to know.

    Deja, I dont agree.
It is painful to a certain extent, to live
with the honest compassion for innocent
    people in the world, true.
But when you learn How to love all as
equal, you rid yourself of the delusion
of duality like I mentioned above, and
you never come back, though the ego
will always be fighting as hard as it can.

The problem of self and other is not so much a delusion as a necessary condition of our current social state. I do not dismiss the possibility of a love that extends to all others, but I dismiss all as equal, for it goes against this possibility.

But this is a measurement of love based on desire!
This is not the love of the Self, the universal conciousness,
God, Aum, whatever you know it by.
You are talking of love of the physical person and
    their actions rooted in karma.
I am talking of the Self that is covered in maya (delusion)
    and needs to be uncovered.
Bhakti Yoga is Action of devotion
& Samadhi is the state of non duality, true concentration.
Like the word Namaste, greeting, an acknowledgement
of the higher Self in all, not the sad person wrapped in
    confusion and desire. ~

There is no 'measurement' of love that is not! Why pretend there is love 'outside' the physical, that there is spirit that does not take 'form'?

There is self in all, let that much suffice! And higher self? What of the highest? That is to be found in the highest!

Ok now you've just completley lost your mind :rolleyes5

    Pretend?
Should I pretend that you are speaking
    any truths?
Or should I just blindy accept your opinion without
    researching first?

And I never said, EVER, that there is a measurement
of love and that there is a measurement of love that
    is not.
I said that one is based on the physical, which is
temporary, and therefor pointless, and then there
is love of the Self, that is eternal, living in the
    moment.

    No, of course not!
    haha
    thats why I meditate everyday.
I am in certain ways, but I can not
claim that I attain samadhi, ovbiously.
But it is the goal :)

And yea, I now see what you are aiming at.
But you have to see what I mean, when
you have both the physical love, you can
not have the Self love that is oneness, and
therefor you have dulaism, because you have
the non-eternal love which prevents you from
having the Oneness kind of love, thus cancelling
    out the samadhi.
But we are born with it, and we lost it
because of the development of the Ego ~

The ONLY way any of you believers can actually PROVE the existance, its to show the non-believers a biblical miracle in OUR days, or something to that intent. Words from a book that was written a long time ago, and translated WHO EVEN KNOWS how much, and is also written by humans, IS NOT PROOF!!!! ok, you read revalations, right, sure you have, has it ever occured to you that he may have been eating mushrooms and the whole "vision" was just a trip????? they didnt know then!!!

What do you mean they didnt know?
    That mushrooms make you trip?
If thats what you mean, that is completley false.
And btw, revelations actually coincides poeticaly
and symbolicaly with a lot of truth, such as the
7 temples, 7 angels, possibly alluding to the
7 chakras in the body, etc.
I cant remember all of them but there is a LOT
of stuff in there that is similar to what people have
been saying for a long time.

Or it could be random insanity, I dont know, and
Im not out to prove God or the Bible to other people.

I agree, this thread IS going NOWHERE, only in circles, the title is wrong, or we would all be changed and believe. No one can prove it, you can believe, it gives you a feeling that your being cared for and watched over, even though shitty things happen to you all the time. It makes you feel better about all the bad things you do, cus all you have to do is ask to be forgiven. It gives you an actual person (preacher, etc) to tell you how to live your life, which makes it a lot easier. It gives you ease and comfort on the one thing that ALL HUMANS FEAR....DEATH.

But what about the dead sea scroll contraversy?

The scrolls also shed light on the time when Jesus and John the Baptist lived and early Christians began to organize. Specifically, they offer evidence that early Christian beliefs and practices had precedents in the Jewish sects of the time. Sectarian scrolls tell of people who, like the early Christians, did not believe in the Temple worship of the Pharisees, people who had their own literature, their own rituals—including baptism—and their own beliefs, most significantly beliefs in a messiah, a divine judgment, and an apocalypse. Three different scrolls depict a sacred meal of bread and wine. These similarities as well as parallels between the literary style of certain scrolls and that of the New Testament have led some scholars to claim that Jesus and John the Baptist were either part of or strongly influenced by a sect at the Dead Sea. But no direct link has been established, and it is likely that similarities can be attributed to each being derived from a like strain of Judaism. Still, this debate has furthered speculation about the historical Jesus, such as the claim that he was a Zealot rather than a pacifist, a theory that does not fit with New Testament tradition but does fit with the history of this period. And one of the most important discoveries in the scrolls has been the use of the name Son of God to refer to someone other than Jesus, implying a cultural use of the term that was not itself synonymous with God.

Or the King James Version- WHich MOST people live by...

KJV onlyism is so rampant with misinformation that it is pathetic. It is shamefully sad that some aggressively argue with a half truth that reputable translations leave words out of the Scriptures. (The argument could be turned around to say that the KJV added words.) Regarding this, we should all be informed of the following: The manuscripts that the modern translations are based upon are not the same as the ones used by the KJV. Furthermore, the Textus Receptus (used by the KJV) has been revised numerous times. The man responsible for it originally was Erasmus, a Catholic priest, who stated he wanted salvation but not without Mary. He dedicated the first edition of the TR to the pope. All that, however, does not mean that God’s truth is obliterated by the KJV. It has blessed and brought salvation to millions.

The same, however, can likewise be said about modern reputable translations. The truth is also there. Some KJV onlyites have gone to such an extreme as to say: for a person in Russia to become a Christian, he would have to learn English so that he could read the KJV to read the Word of God to become a Christian. (In other words, they are saying that the Word of God is not available in Russian, Spanish, French, etc.) Some others think the KJV is more inspired and authoritative than the Greek and Hebrew manuscripts. This is all unbelievable ignorance which is hindering God's truth from spreading.

The KJV only movement implies there was no Word of God until 1611 when the KJV translators translated the Greek and Hebrew into the Elizabethan English of that day. Question: What did people do for 1600 years before the KJV came out? Obviously the Word of God was around before that time and without the KJV. Hence, their whole thesis crumbles to the ground on this point alone. If one would strictly examine the KJV alone, there are many problems with it that would shock most of these KJV onlyites. Again, they have heard only one side of all this—the side that is causing division and promoting a very hard, if not sometimes impossible, translation to understand.

^ I think its interesting that for most of its existence that the Catholic Church, they didn't want people to know or understand what was in the bible. They were far more concerned with maintaining their power. By that I mean, its was considered heretical to translate the bible to other languages. Majority of Europe could speak nor read Latin/Hebrew/Greek, almost no one could question what they were being told by the clergy. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people were killed/burned at the stake for translating the bible and/or even owning a copy of a translation in their own language.
