Well im not a dumbass so im not going to put mayonnaise in my hair. As for listening to advice...that would be why i created this account. To ask questions and receive positive feedback from people who genuinely care. That being said i've had a few not so pleasant responses that simply dont help, so forgive me if i dont take EVERYONES advice. Also i never once got advice from a friend who got it from a friend from a friend who never had dreads hah although i see your point, that would be pointless, its like asking a jew if they ever made friends with a nazi. I did however ask my friend, who has had much more success than a lot of the people ive seen with dreads. And hes white, and this is now his second time doing it. So yeah I dont think taking advice from him would be a bad idea. He also explained it to me in a pretty simple way, everyones hairs different Some people need to wash there hair frequently. Some people, like me, dont have to wash it as often. Trust me if my hair was getting all greasy and disgusting after a month and after reading all this information i would not continue to not wash it. However that is not the case, My hair is dry if anything. I understand you have experience in this field and i appreciate your input. Just dont treat me like some arrogant kid whos asking questions and not taking any advice. That would be silly of me. I am much smarter than that, as i have read a lot of gotten many responces and mixed opinions. I also decided to do some own fact vs myth research myself and found a lot of what i was told was true, however i have come to the conclusion that there is no one way to dread your hair. Everyone hair is different any requires different methods. For me the palm rolling method has proven effective as I have tons of little miny twisties that are locking up. I understand my hair is a bit to short for them to stay locked but it seems the longer my hair gets the more and more little twisties i start to get. As for the water washing method, ive always been taught that to wash something you must first have soap or shampoo, so as of today I now consider the water washing method to count as washing your hair as it does remove excess oil. I was just under the impression from everyone who kept responding that I HAD to wash my hair with soap or shampoo. I personally dont think i need it and after reading information for others who have had similar experiences as you and have experiences in the field of dreading i have come to realize that water works for some people. So i think ill try it! Thank you for the lengthy response and experienced input, i shall take all information into consideration. Thank you bubbletonic, and everyone else for that matter. I might seem like i like to argue however that is not the case, i just have an interesting way of getting my points across as people sometimes just dont listen. Once again thank you everyone for the informative responses, glad to see someone is reading my threads haha
As long as it's clean, all good. Whether that's from just water, soap or whatever, it doesn't really matter. I pretty much only wash with just water for the most part now, and do a good hit with bi-carb every so often, it stays fine. So that shouldn't be a problem. It definitely will take a while to lock up with hair that short though. Not to say it wont happen, but it will probably spend a while growing before a whole lot happens. Not to worry though! Just keep up with not brushing it and after a while things are bound to happen!
Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. Sorry im not a little more up for conversation. A little pissed off and irritated with this fucking website. A bunch of fucking assholes that can turn any conversation/debate into a heated argument.
you honestly can't do anything with hair that short...to think you can is kind of silly. Calm down and wait a few months braahhhhhh
