I'm an atheist, I'm also an agnostic. I'm a tripper and a philosopher.

I never get indignant about people not believing in existentialism; I never treat people as if they are less moral because they are more hedonistic, or more religious; and I never, ever get offended when a person makes fun of new-age beliefs that I hold very highly like collective unconscious.

Why should religion be untouchable?

 

because it's a big part of some people's lives and some find it disrespectful when someone questions or makes fun of their beliefs

 

Not everybody.

 

Philosophy can be just as big for secular believers.
Politics are the biggest part of some peoples' lives.
Relationships are the biggest part of others.
Comics are a ridiculously, unhealthily huge part of mine.
Stamp collecting is the biggest part of others, and comedy is the biggest part of others.

All of these things are fair to make fun of or disagree with.
