There is nothing inherently wrong with the military. It does provide a start for many people. I got my first medical education in the military and it was good. The downside was the hole in my chest (grin). However, it is safer being in the military right now than it is in civilian life. Number of people killed in car crashes is the biggest killer in the country of young people and the rate is higher for civilians. I am not in favor of the way the military is being used right at the moment, but that is going to be decided way above your pay grade. If you are smart and get good expensive training the military will not throw away your life. The navy is a good choice just stay away from their medial program, they have to go ashore with the marines and that is a dangerous line of work. However, I had a good friend that spent his whole tour up on top of Monkey Mountain with a whole RCT of troops protecting him because he was a high priced radio intercept/crypto type. It is only in the movies that they let the high expense help risk their lives. That is not to say you cannot get hurt - look at the USS Cole. But in general, the risk/reward balance in the military is favorable.
HeeHee. I knew all that. I was just practicing playing dumb because for some reason i seem to get farther with women when I do.
