lol. moksha puts "hippies" in the "happy swing" then gets mad at me for a personal testimonial that i never found them so. i find them frequently combative. i think that's awesome.
very true. or if they have their 'holy roller" protest quest and whatnot. i respect it. but it's definitely not taking things in "swing".
That is silly. To be honest mama you are evoking negative thoughts because I find you being very rude and ignorant. Ignorant because you take the experiences you have and apply that as the total truth, and to me. Which is the rude part, and you use language to make fun of me, because I said a lot of "hippies" take things in swing. Your personal testimony does not apply to the world.
*sigh* moksha, sweetie, i teased you because you got all mad at me out of the blue. you're on a hippie forum, obviously the lable "hippie" means something to a lotta people here and i've dealt with a lot of them. they're just like every other normal person and flow or not depending on their mood, ideals or aims. you need to relax and cheer up. it's okay.
and i positive repped you for amusing me on a boring day when i don't feel good and i think my cat is dying.
I'm sorry your cat may be dying. I guess I'm glad I amused you by voicing my opinion. You are right, they are like every other person. Except they think not because of aesthetic and superficial things.
Arcata... it is 350 miles north of Santa Cruz so I think that qualifies SC as being more southern. Also, I was kidding. I have no idea which redwoods are better and I don't even really like redwoods anyway. They create boring monotonous forests with no diversity.
Oh, I totally agree with you. Most people around here are hippies and they are definitely combative. For instance, they fight with the timber companies... they don't just "go with the flow" when a timber company wants to clearcut a redwood grove...
you've come a long way. i remember when you loved them. i imagine they are incredibly impressive, but old growth forests tend to be that way. robs the land of a lotta nutrition needed for plant diversity. still, as the pinnacle of forest deveolopment, interesting.
i thought it was the meaning of hippie, actually. me, i'm combative, but as a fatalistic consumer and materialistic schlub, i think i go with the flow more than hippies. i even try to blend in.
I really love the old growth Spruce and Fir forests around here, they are full of awesome fungi and understory plants... but redwoods repel most other plant and fungi species so basically all redwood forests have besides redwoods are ferns. As a botanist, that makes it kind of boring.
no doubt. what i remember from one class in california geography, my professor told us that old growth forests are the pinnacle and dead end of botanical diversity. something like that. i'd always wondered. i've never seen an old growth forest.
