I don't think I'm going to win...

I'm buying one. My rationalization is that I waste my money on all manner of rubbish like cheap food, beer, etc. A lottery ticket is much healthier (but not necessarily for eating )

 

"ok, give me three mega millions tickets... six pick 4s... oh yeah, scratch offs! i need one of this one... two of these... four of these... ok, just let me scratch these off here at the counter... oh look, there's 17 people in line behind me trying to buy their gas and get to work! haha! oh good, i won $20 on this one... ok i'll need 3 more of these, 5 of these... 1 of this, 1 of this, 1 of this... oh yeah, i need to check the 72 tickets i bought yesterday under your little scanner device... one by one... darn, nothing... ok, i just need to scratch these off now... oh good, a free ticket... i'll take one of those... let me scratch that off... darn, nothing... oh hell, i can spend another $20, this is no time to be frugal... give me 4 more mega millions... 3 pick 3s... some more scratch offs... and 2 packs of marlboro lights... oh, camels are buy 2 get 1 free! put these back and give me three camels... now just let me scratch off these tickets..."

 

in Canada we dont get taxed on lottery winnings

if the jackpot was 500 million..we get 500 million

they'd probably go after the interest in subsequent years..but i could deal with that

 

I love surprise. And everyone would like this big surprise. Anyway, you can keep thinking about it, but don't too hard. And if you win, maybe we should be treated a nice meal. haha

 

I just heard that it's up to 640 million!! Probably make 700 by tonight. Insane.

 

I've had some people suggest numbers and I'm working on finishing up filling out a ticket. I already bought a ticket's worth of random numbers.

That's great-that's the way it should be-in the European country I live in, the tax is only 10% on lottery winnings. It's one of the few good things about the tax system

 

Actually,what would one do with a check in your pocket for 500 million dollars? How will the person that wins handle it?

I bought 6 tickets.

I didn't spend $6 though...I "reinvested" previous winnings from scratch tickets.

 

I caved in a brought 6 tickets as well
