I would have to agree that the mj is healthy, maybe not all of it(like the smoke and other stuff), but the THC makes me eat, relives stress, and gives me rest, how much healthier can you get?

Yea its mentally addicting, just like any other drug.

sounds like he needs to work on his mental addiction, OR find a steady source of income, i choose the second option.

"Everything is still the same.....People want it.....JUST got to have it! yea..."

Marijuana Addiction Exist to a certain Extent. When you've been smoking for a while a lot quiting will be a pain in the ass. Symtpoms like Insomnia,Anxiety,Sweating during sleep over feeling of depression and lost of appetite.

I use to not beleive it like most smokers. The first time I stoped for a while I tought these symptoms were because of the dxm I got sick on But This week Ive started another weed break and the same thing happen to me. I dotn have sleep problemes but I definitvly Sweat to excess during my sleep and Have lost appetite and eat very lil.

Beleive what you want But I honestly beleive their some kind of addiction.

.......Tho that wont stop me from smoking :)

Oh don't be one of those jackasses, if you really didn't trust wikipedia you can go read all the sources on the article too, there's 8 different sources used for the addiction section and near 140 different sources just for the that one article on just the effects of marijuana.

some people are just wired to be addicted to things, i am addicted to coffee. no fucking lie either, i get headaches without it HAHA never once thought I was addicted to pot tho...

and the person who said the mental addiction thing.......... often times addictions are more mental than physical with things so i think mental and physical addiction go hand in hand..............

mental addiction to something can have physical effects....

hey, i lived there & saw this. it was only weed. others are well aware of this too. & no one wanted to help. even people whom she got high all the time. it`s one of the reasons too, i went to rippee gathering. to get away from it. i tried to get her to go even to that, she was too stoned. & by then her car wasn`t running too. it`s possible she would`ve been healed @ the gathering. i could probably hunt the article down in the local paper. i`m sure something was said about it, cuz her house was a mess too. & the animals were abused.she often was too stoned to remember to pay the electric bill.

Like I said, she obviously had many more problems than the fact that she smoked marijuana. lol

Prime example for the guy who mentioned going cold turkey for a month:

I've been smoking about 4 of the 7 days of the week for the past couple monthds which isn't a lot for some people. Well, I ran out and my dealer is someone who comes into town a lot but he isn't coming back for a while. Luckily this happened when I have exams coming up so I'll have a clear head to study. But every day I've been like, fuck I wish I could get high. I mean, it's not like I just sit around and crave it and physically need it, but mentally I want it. It's not addicting like heroin, and I would definitely say nicotine is more addicting as well, but there still is a psychological addiction factor for sure. I have to go almost exactly four weeks without some.

Marijuana addiction DOES NOT EXIST>>>> it is just a face shield that the government made up for monetary reasons. They dont want to make it legal cuz then people would just grow their own and they would lose money. They needed a good excuse for making it illegal and "addiction" was just one they came up with.

The question you have to ask yourself is, 'Does "want" translate into an addiction'?

People, weed is not some kind of miracle plant, it's still a drug, you only smoke it because it has THC in it and it gets you high and psychological addiction is by far the most powerful form of addiction, Cigarettes are the best example of this, when people quit smoking cigarettes, some people do get headaches, and people get bitchy, but there's no real physical withdrawl symptoms, it's all just the desire to want to smoke them.

I don't agree. i am heavily addicted right now. I have a script for it and am contemplating whether or not I want to fill it today.
This is my basis for it being addictive, which is one of the same reasons it's beneficial: After a long period of time marijuana acts as a first generation prozac for your brain. Take it away and you have a lot of the same side-effects as withdrawing from an SSRI.
So it does in fact change your brain chemistry.
But, it doesn't change your metabolism, which means it's not addictive in the same realm of heroin or speed or even alcohol.

If you consider marijuana a vitamin, then how do you explain the fact that countless people have led happy, healthy, and successful lives without ever smoking weed?
