pabsy, just think about it. How could wearing some kind of footwear make driving safer? It's actually exactly the opposite. With footwear you lose the ability to feel the pedals. Yes, depending on the thickness of the footwear you usually can feel something, but it's pressure you're feeling, not touch. Also, a lot of footwear is slippery on the bottom, especially if it happens to be wet, so your feet can easily slip off the pedals. And if that slipping starts to happen, since you have no sense of touch to alert you, you're not likely to feel it happening until it's too late. Not only do you have no sense of touch when driving with footwear, just the mechanical shape and weight of most footwear is quite dangerous in that it can get hung up between or under the pedals. Or wide boots or shoes can overlap from gas pedal to brake or vice versa without your even realizing it - again, no sense of touch. When I drive, even in the rare cases where I'm going somewhere that I need shoes, I never have the shoes on when driving. I just can't imagine trying to drive an automobile, which is just an inherently dangerous thing anyway for a variety of reasons, without my feet having full feel and control of the pedals. So the idea of footwear being safer for driving than bare feet is patently ridiculous.
It depends on the week really, some times it can be freezing cold others it's okay. ------------ Monday night I had alot of fun running programming at the tv station. All I had to do was put the tape in (VHS), press play, bring the sound up, and switch the tape when the show was over. I was the only one there so I walked barefoot around the entire studio. It was a lot of fun.
I had another adventure barefooting last night. Every thursday at my school we have swing dancing. Last night I went and danced barefoot for about an hour. It was alot of fun.
not that much different (unsafe) from riding a motorcycle in flip flops. scooters don't really go that fast and they're low to the ground and it has to board that you rest your feet on, so I don't see it being too bad.
i always drive barefoot.... i keep flip flops under the seat just in case of any occurances.. my family calles me a silly hippie, other than that... i love it
w/e = what ever... haha sorry i'm lazy i just get into the habbit of using Short talk with msn and such.
