Yeah, I don't mean to sound harsh but being expelled definetely isn't a good thing...

You need a job to live and you don't get a job if you don't have any qualifications at all. If I were you I would do some serious brown nosing and get your arse back in school. Try and impress at your meeting tommorow...

I gotta say that while you may enjoy your free time now it won't seem so great in 10 years time when you still have nothing to do all day.

That Jeffrey guy may have been kinda harsh but everything he wrote is true man, you gotta get it sorted.

Even if you have a diploma, it really won't help much more than not having one, but that depends on which field you want to work in. I am just sort of appalled at the fact that so many of you could care less about being expelled. 0_o Yeah I know I sound like the biggest fuckin' loser on earth saying this, and maybe I am, but I suppose its different for everyone. Some like school, some dont, but I think we shouldn't criticize each other regardless of our decisions. ;)

I was expelled from school when I was 15 and took off on GD tour in 1994/5. My teachers were fuckin' pricks as most still are. Although I ended up passing my GED, getting two BA degrees (History & Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Christian History and Theology [related to the roots of Rastafari]), and a teaching credential, I always felt liked I missed out on something very important by not finishing up hs.
I am currently a high school history teacher who smokes herb and dabbles with mind-expansion in MANY forms INCLUDING education.

Naw, man, all I'm saying is that you're being ignorant. You NEED school or else your life is gonna be SHIT. Sure, some people make it without school, they got a talent like music or art or some shit, but what do you have? Do you have that? Those people are like a thousandth of one percent of the population. You figure you got such good odds?

I didn't say I'm perfect. I did have a good upbringing, my surroundings were not sucky. But you need to accept some other people's wisdom, because it'll help you a lot more than what you're doing currently. What's your plan, if you don't end up back in school somewhere?

Dat's right, and I'm all about da "tough love," yo!

Sorry if I was harsh. You are writing like you have not been through near enough school. If you want to have a future, work on your intellectual skills. They matter more than anything in life.

where in Canada do you live? Most schools in BC after two weeks you can go back and ask to sign a contract saying your going to smarten up. As long as you follow the contract you can stay in school. And stop smoken ganja when you gotta go to school.

Wow, almost a year ago, I got "expelled" too.

If I were you, I'd be worried. You seem like someone who's going to make it nowhere but prison for drugs...

Around here, parents can be arrested for their children not attending school regularly. If you were my son, I would be so mad at you... I told my kids "If I get arrested because of stupid shit you are doing, you better run and hide. Because when I get out of jail, I'm coming after your ass. I brought you into this world and I will damn sure take you out of it." And yes, I MEANT it.

Practice this line dude.... "Do you want fries with that?" Because people with a college education are having trouble finding jobs. The only thing that is left for uneducated folks is the service industry.

Or like others have said... A life of crime... Cuz I doubt your parents are going to want to support you all your life.

Glad to hear it! Stick with it. I know that school isn't fun, but trust me, it is important. Speaking from experience, I am one that did not graduate from high school. And I have lost decent job opportunites because of it (even with several years of experience). And it doesn't last forever, only a few years, and then you'll be done with it! :)

I was expelled in grade 9, but managed to graduate from high school and get into college by the time I was 16. I'm afraid I disagree with most people on this thread. After all that school I feel I can confidently say that school and learning don't belong in the same sentence. Perhaps because I educated myself at a level surpassing that of school (sorry if I'm bragging) and the methods used in school just might've not been right for me. Everything I know (and I am very educated) has been learned outside of school. School, in my opinion, was a huge, painful waste of time.
Also, I disagree about jobs and school being necessary for survival. I mostly live out of a backpack, travelling from place to place, busking and selling art if I need money. And I am NOT parasitic, living off of "productive" people. I know how to forage for food, shelter, and all the rest.
So please realize, people, that school is definitely not for everyone.

Yes, you might be able to learn more outside of school systems where you are limited by the teacher and other class constraints; however, there is more to learn in school about the workings of the world than bookish academic knowledge.

Oh definitely, if I had a choice I would be homeschooled and learn on my own. For one I dont like people (social anxiety disorder), and its very hard to try and do well on work when there are a bunch of fucktards around you acting up.

[IMG] If you say so. I just don't see what's funny about being kicked out of school, then again I'm a lifeless geek so I can't really comment here where there are so many carefree people. :p Forgive me for valuing my intelligence. ;)

I agree. I wish I could just stay home and educate myself. All school up until highschool is a waste of time. I don't relate to anybody. I don't hate them. I just don't relate. It sucks having to do a bunch of busy work because everybody around you is too slow for the teacher to go through the material any faster. In foreign language classes busy work is beneficial but otherwise it is a pain in the ass.

I have learned more this year in 9th grade than all my years of school previous combined.

Ziggyfly: If it just comes down to the fact that school just isn't the right enviroment for you for productive learning, and for some people, it just ISN'T..., but college or a learn/work at home course set up by your local college (where you only go into college for about 1 hour at the end of each month to look over your work with a tutor and for your actual exams, but you've GOT to be really self-motorvated for that, it's all too easy to just keep being too '...Ah, I couldn't be bothered just at the moment,....I'll do it later...' and there isn't anyone around to frog martch you into doing it...) but if that or a regular college course IS a way you'd find you'd be better suited to learning/getting educated then really, good luck to you, man! Hope you do well!
But DO try to get an education which ever way you do it. I know it might not seem important right now, it wasn't to me when I was 15, but really it will be when you get older. True, you CAN get along in life without qualifications, but hell you struggle!!! Just don't put yourself in the position where you got to stuggle, no sence in making it harder on yourself. That's all I'm saying to you. Eitherway, good luck to you.

I get your point, also I 'feel' your point as, altho I stayed in school, I came out with nothing of educational value (and the experiance of school was just very lame and sometimes worse than that, they were some real punk-asses at my school who gave me a hard time because I wasn't a fuckin' generic 'sheep' like them and I would confrom to what would make THEM comfatable....but, hey, nothing that 'scared' me for life or anything! Just pissed me off at the time....) I only really got myself an education AFTER leaving school. Now, I've got to say, 'up my own...' as this may sound, I'm damn impressed with what I've done since!! (Not going to brag by going in to it with you all, it's enough, for me, to know myself I've done good...) But,...to do what you did, to do what I did (...and haven't finished yet...) it takes real personal motorvation. If you have no intrest to improve yourself (interlectually speaking) if you have no hunger for knowlage you don't currently posses, then you're not going to get done out of school what you didn't get done in school. That's what worries me slightly about 'Ziggyfly' does he feel that out of school learing would be for him?? Or is he just not interested? Hope he is. If he is, as I said earlier to him, I DO wish him well.
