I'm sorry about what happened with your dad. I am sure there are many people out there who can empathize with your experience. But you can't let it ruin your life. You need to use the limited control you have being 13 and use it so you can have more control in the future. Accomplishments are what leads to good self esteem-whether we want to admit it or not. So try and get good grades and get involved in something that you are good at. By letting your past bring you down you are letting it win.

Unfortunately, I have to argue with you here. I think sometimes you can be mislead so badly that you truly don't know what you're doing is wrong. What if, for the first 10 yrs of your life you lived with a bunch of irresponsible drug using, shit talking, pot growing dummies? I swear to god, I know a 3 yr old(almost 4) that can just about roll a joint. He's seen it done that much. He's gotten a contact buzz sooo much that I promise you he ASKS to hit weed. So, while you always do make your own decisions, I really see how some kids these days don't understand the choices they make or why it's even bad for them.....
