and what percentage of taxes in general, paid by those who even make decent money, do you think goes towards helping the unfortunate...a small samll percentage, almost all of it goes to the military

you brought this on yourself by claiming you help homelss people by paying tax on money you make at a restaurant or whatever.

have a little sympathy...I bet you are two missed paychecks away from being homeless yourself without the support of a family...many of these people don't have that support

 

Some can be annoying, sure... but I don't know... I feel more bad for them then anything really.

 

If I have money to spare I give it to them, if I don't I tell them that... I don't know, it never really bugs me when they ask for money.

 

I guess IM just heartless, for keeping the money with me than giving it to someone who is just going to spend it on drugs

 

How do you know they would just spend it on drugs though?

 

Ask them if they're hungry. Take then and get them something.

No one's saying you have to give them money, but you don't have to be a such a dick about it.

 

I gave this homeless guy a crushed up granola bar before... Haha.. it's all I had. He actually took it and seemed grateful.

 

I dont care but some are persistant and can get into your personal space. I become defensive at that point...

 

This one begger actually threatened to punch my husband once when he said he had no money... made a movement with his fist like he was going to punch him. He wasn't all there though.

 

I hate the ones that try to touch me as I pass. That's just asking for a punch in the face.

 

There was a guy in front of Home Depot last weekend. He had a little podium that said something like "give money to help poor drug addicted teens".

I thought, well, this is such obvious horseshit, he'll starve to death. By the time I had gone in the store, two people had given him a dollar.

and don't ask me, i have never been handled by a bum despite being in tougher areas than you have, I'm sure of it.
