You talkin to me? haha. What's a kansas bum like? edited- nvermind, you obviously meant sea. But what is a kansas bum like then? And how are they any worse then in DC, Baltimore or Philly?
Fuck yeah, round them up...sterilize them and put them on a work gang. Seriously though. Just say no to them. It's free and it hasn't ruined your day in the least. Then you can go home, eat your take out and watch cable. Then sleep in your nice warm bed.
hahaha I remember one night my mom and I made a run to the liquor store and a man was outside asking for money. I know what it feels like to detox from alcohol - it sucks. So I bought him a beer. I've never seen a man so happy or grateful. Madcrappie so what if they buy alcohol or drugs....if you can't spare a dime that's pretty sad. I thought I was poor but you seem worse off. And yes she asked if you had change because you told her no, instead of saying, "yes but I'm not giving it to you."
thats kind of asinine of you, dont hate, I dont know one person in this world with money that doesnt have change, whether it be coins or if youre like me, bills...so dude, stop tripping, if you had the change before or after, why be so greedy and keep it when someone is obviously in need of it? i love the way we on this forum are hating other people who are in need of things and just are opinionated on the less fortunate, or even stereotypical for that mattter, arent we kind of contradicting ourselves by posting threads like this? i thought us "hippies" are willing to give an extra hand, or in this case, a couple of quarters, i think the elders are right, the 60's will never happen again
i feel the same way. i always give spare change when i have it. a few years ago i saw a guy begging by the mall and i didnt have cash or change so i bought him groceries..when i came back to where he was standing, he was gone - we found him by a restaurant getting food out of the dumpster. he cried when i gave him the grocery bag
water, poptarts, crackers, and some other stuff like that. my brother picked out most of the stuff because everything i wanted to get wasnt "practical"
I used to work at a place that would cook for the homeless, and poor every weekend. I hated it when we ran out of food and would have to turn people away. Madcrappie I hope nothing ever happens that would cause you to have to beg for change.
I agree 100%. One dude gave me advice on a good diner, so I gave him some money. Give and take no matter what in my eyes, even if its advice. I tend to give food instead of money however. Maybe carry a granola bar with you or something? Offer that, because I understand that a lot of people will just go for a 40 or something.
Well If it's any comfort dozens of homeless people die each winter from exposure in the northern tier of states, a phenomenon that experts have dubbed "winter die-off" Some of them are actually found with little or no clothing on because of a strange condition known as "paradoxical undressing," where victims of hypothermia become disoriented, hallucinate, and shed their clothing.
