I worked with a teenager for two years (he just got laid off last week) and honestly this individual is one of the most mature individuals I've ever run across. The kid never complained about the work expected of him... he held down the P/T job and went to school full time- (high school then trade school)- did more in his 4 or 5 hours than many did in 8.

His folks offered to pay for his car if he quit (concern about not having enough energy for studies) and he refused... he wants to earn what he has. His lay off was strictly a money decision... nine others went with him. Stupid move IMO... they got their money's worth from him but he's better off now.

Not all teens are whiners who feel entitled.
