I broke my neck at c3 and 6 and a whole lot of other things. That was 20+ yrs ago and I've been on every pain med known to man. Right now I'm at the lowest in 20 yrs. 5 oxys 30mg 4x 100 MS cotton, and Soma 4 350, Xanaflex 4x8 mg Lyrica. Its not getting better.
There is one thing that can stop withdraw from anything opiate related. If you have some make a tea from the dried husk and stalks and seed of opium flowers. It makes a bitter opec tea that goes well with hunny. I've used this in the middle of raging heron withdraws and it stops them dead in their tracks. If you don't have a garden with opium poppy flowers then think about growing one. Opium groews best in poor soil and cool weather. I've had great gardens in Anchorage AK and just near down town Seattle. In a pinch you can make a tea with seeds--you can order them for backing and most have some to a lot of morphine in them. BE CAREFUL--YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW POTENT IT WILL BE! I KNOW OF AT LEAST ONE CASE WHERE SOMEONE OVER DOSED AND DIED DOING THIS--!! If you have a habit it probably will be safe. It always felt like an awesome shot of Persian heron or or a just enough oxycodone to me. Others got sick or had less than good experience with it. If your in withdraws and you've made it to the 2ond or third day it would be a shame to do this as it puts you right back in the "strung out" lane again. Growing opium poppys is legal in most states as long as you don't harvest the opium. Making the tea is a way of going around that. The dried husk and stems make wonderful arrangements that can be used medically in a pinch.
I got 1 replaced. ONE in 20 years, and in that time I have had friends and healthcare workers in my home who would just take my meds when ever someone asked them to. 3 times everything was taken and only once did they rewrite he script. That was in the 90s. Today you cannot get a refill more than 7 days early for C-II. I now keep my doors locked and never let anyone handle my meds. The price of chronic-non-malignant pain.
Beer doesn't do shit for serious, chronic pain, unless maybe if you drink enough to literally pass out.
The guy I believe stole mine was an acquaintance, aka "friend". He knew about my meds because it came up in conversation, because he was taking the same meds as me, and he even knew when I had mine refilled. I'd see him out at the VA clinic, and we'd sit around like a couple of geezers and complain about our medical problems. So he knew they came from the VA. The VA normally sends meds to you in the mail to cut down on waiting times at their pharmacy. I saw this guy across the street checking my place out a couple times, but I didn't think anything of it because there's a bus stop over there. I guess what he was really doing was staking out the place to see when the mail arrived. He got lucky one refill day when I happened to be gone, and that was that. I thought about trying to get it replaced, but I didn't think they would. But about a week later I tried anyway, and they wanted a police report. So I had them put me on the "do not mail" list, which means I have to go in and pick all my meds up in person, but it's worth it. And even in my own apartment I keep them not only hidden but locked up. It's a pain in the butt, but that's what you have to do.
Well, I'm talking about the VA pharmacy, not Walgreen's or CVS. The VA is a government agency, and they tend to be hard asses on drugs like this. Besides, my local police dept. is concerned with other things, and probably wouldn't take something like this seriously. They're under-manned and running around like headless chickens dealing with robberies and gang related violence. Maybe in 2 weeks I could have gotten a police report, but by then I already had my next refill.
