I have made a big mistake

Well i would say that hallucigens have an effect more on your mind most of the time then your actual physical state. That is that your mind may feel no real indiffrence to the plant. Hence you could find some sort of spiritual bond with the plant, a connection. The person who does this is at a point of enlightenment when this occures. It is really like the energy of both spirits is focused inward.
