I remember my first semester in College I had an "experiment" going in a draw of my desk. There was a 1/3 cup of wine that I left there for most of the semester. By the end it was a solid block of green/blue mold. I was waiting for it to grow legs and walk away, but it didn't...

It might not taste so good.... like, skunky.

The worst that could happen is it doesn't taste good, try it and see. It won't kill you.

The stuff in the bottom is probably just settled beer solids.

By the way, you shouldn't buy blue moon. It's a fake craft beer, designed from the ground up to fool people, it's owned by miller.

roor is correct that it wont hurt you, it will give you the same buzz as if it was fresh but i guarantee it wont taste good. even beers that are meant to be aged dont get any better after 5 years and start to get worse. if its a lager its defiantly going to be skunky.

while i am no stranger to this phenomena i am not stupid enough to make it even possible to make the mistake of drinking the wrong can. if there is a can that you know has something you would never want to swallow you got to take that tab on top of the can and twist it so that it partially covers the mouth of the can. it acts almost like a gate to keep you lips from touching the inside of the can and is an instant reminder that this is the can that you dont want to drink from. bottles are tougher but you gotta peel the label and pay attention.
depends on the beer, they now have born on dates or best before dates, if it is so old that it dosnt have one then it probably isnt good. your regular american lagers are best within 90 days. if i had to guess they are still decent after 6 months. the debris is sediment and that is in any decent wheat beer. you are supposed to gently roll the beer to mix it up so it dosnt sit on the bottom i think pouring it in a glass would mix it up enough... i hope i dont need to tell you to not shake a beer of any kind for any reason.
there is debate over what skunks beer and the hot cold hot cold thing has been proven false do to the fact that pretty much every beer goes into the hot then cold a couple times before it ever touches a store shelf. i think it has to do with how much light hits the beer and the age of the beer. and this theory is supported by the fact that canned beer is skunky less often and takes longer to get skunky. but that all is just personal opinion from my experience.
as for the big brewers owning the "fake craft beers" i say drink what you enjoy but please give some microbrews a try before you blindly stick to one of macros.... try a few different kinds like a stout an ipa an esb and see what kinds you like then try micros of that kind of beer.

so did you spit it back into the can or what? if i had piss in my mouth i imagine i would spit it out quickly and forcefully...

like pensfan just said, that debris is normal for unfiltered beers. i've really only seen a lot of it in one particular 6 pack of blue moon though. must have been toward the end of a batch or something.

For Xmas I had a beer that was dated for November 2003. I polished it off still.

    Alright sweet!

I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it a try lol. and yeah.. my friend who is very into micro-brews and stuff tells me the exact same thing. I believe Blue Moon is actually owned by Coors..but still (not a big "light" beer fan) I am pretty big Samuel Adams fan tho ha..

I've tried some interesting ones lately however. Magic Hat #9 is amazing! and dogfish head makes some good ones. Not a big IPA guy tho... but, there are sooo many good brewing companies out there

    Alright, thanks for this :sunny:

Yeah, there are many micro-brews I have been trying (with recommendations from friends and such) that I greatly enjoy. There are just soooo many to try lol. Magic Hat, Victory, Flying Dog, Brooklyn, and many more are just a few I've tried as of late.

Some beers that AREN'T micro-brews that I enjoy are: Newscastle Brown Ale, Becks, Stella Artois, and Red Stripe.

Ehh coors sounds as correct as miller to me :p

Either way, they're evil and designed to help big-beer dominate the market while creating the appearance of diversity. I think samuel adams is legit, though I've never had a chance to try it....

at least there wasnt a dead mouse in the bottle. i've heard about that shit happening and i believe it. i brew my own and keep my bottles in the basement. i clean them before putting them down there and sanitize before bottling. i've had enough instances of finding dead mice in the bottle when it comes time for bottling that i look for it now. usually happens with bottles that are 1 pint or larger, too large for the mice to knock over when they crawl inside (i used to wonder what the hell was smashing my bottles)

ive accidentally drank piss before too.

also, every blue moon i've ever drank, (prolly 3 or 4 different occasions) they have all had the sediment in the bottom.

i couldn't fathom a dead mouse. I would be traumatized forever.
