Alas, it's only effective if you have male friends you find attractive. I don't really have any male friends right now who are single, let alone attractive to me (people rarely move out of the friend box into the attractive box for me).

I want everyone to understand that this is just my opinion, and I understand that my point of view may not be the right for view for everyone, or even anyone. Be that as it may, I still think that if you changed your style you would find alot more men, and more attractive men, coming on to you. Your hair, makeup (or lack thereof) and wardrobe should all be revamped immediately, and I promise if you find the right girl to help you change this, you'll never go back to the hippy style you have now because your love life will improve 1000 times over. Amber, I wasn't trying to disrespect you or your values/beliefs by giving my own opinion. I just think that a person's values aren't determined by the clothes they wear or the shoes or hair or any other aspect of their physical being. I don't think it is shallow for placing value on material possesions, any more so than it is shallow to place value on intelligence, or running water, or life itself since all these are simply gifts from god, and none are any more or less important than the other. So if, by dressing more stylish you could get an attractive, smart and good man to give you a chance, I don't see why not. What if one of your male friends who you don't find attractive had a deep crsuh on you, and one day he turned up at your local bar/club whatever, and he dressed different, cleaned up, lost weight, just looked better and suddenly you were attracted to him and you fell in love. Does that make you a bad person for not seeing his beauty before he changed? No, of course not. But it is your life, and these are just my views. You are pretty regardless of how you dress and I wish you the best.

As for you Zoomie, it is my understanding that the hippie culture promotes tolerance and different viewpoints, which you certainly do not. Do you drive a car? If so, then you add to the leading cause of cancer in world, air pollution cause by the burning of fossil fuels.

Do you smoke or drink? Then you support those who cause cancer and death.

Where were your clothes made? A country where labor laws allow for slave labor with minimal wages for ludricrous hours a day and no child labor laws? Even if your clothes aren't chances are you have purchased a product, likely very many such products, and you are a slave driver.

My point is, you support the same system and actions that I support. I don't smoke, rarely drink, don't own an automobile. Yes, I am gainfully employed, but haven't filed taxes in a number of years because I choose not to participate. I pay sales tax sometimes but I could avoid that by simply hopping over to Deleware. The woman bought me some new boots last year, but 90% of everything I own, use and wear is recycled. I recycle, freecycle and buy clothing at thrift stores. I dont't need the trappings of modern life BECAUSE I'M A HIPPIE YOU IDIOT!!!

You obviously measure your worth by the amount of green pieces of paper you can stack up. I measure my worth by my own happiness without them, and the things I can do to make others smile. But the most important difference is that I have something you will never have, at least not by the standards I hold, and the standards held by most people on these boards:
