Personally, I love the smell and fresh hair, but I have had such a huge build up (pic on page 3) of dandruff etc, it makes me think there is more residue left behind than I hoped:(

I don't have dreadies yet, but I've been plagued by dandruff off and on since I moved to wretched Florida. The thing that's worked best for me is pure grapefruit juice. I just get a few from the yard, juice them and soak my head it them, and tie it up in a plastic bag for a couple hours. And stay out of the heat, since I don't want my hair to lighten. I don't see how that could hurt dreadlocks (if I'm wrong, please inform me), and it certainly does kill the dandruff.

I was using Dr B and had horrible dandruff buildup...similiar to pmeisters pics. it was awful. So then I tried Baking soda and a couple of different shampoos...Trader Joes tea tree shampoo, EO rose and coconut shampoo, and Giovanni tea tree shampoo and it all gave me dandruff! So now I rinse every other day with warm water and no soap and it works way better than any shampoo Ive ever used! About once a week I make some fresh rosemary tea and then dump that on my head too and the dandruff is soooo unnoticeable now! Not only that, but my dreads have been shrinking and tightening since Ive started doing that...so its worked wonders for me.
