"I'm well aware of the psychological impact of war, I've heard plenty of war stories, and I've even met a few vietnam vets...
It's a tragedy what they went through, but just the same there is poetry in the breakdown..."

i'm glad you can find some poetry in iraq, when you're laying on the ground, half blind and an agonising pain is gnawing off whats left of your left leg. though i suppose the poetry might come 10-15 years later when you find yourself abandoned by a government, no money working in a supermarket ahhh well such is the american dream. if you're actually joining up or actually going to iraq that is.....

like it or not we live in anarchy, we have free will to belive in peace and love just as much as another can belive in killing for protection of a country. at what point are we hipocrits for telling them that what they do is wrong? they are beings just as we are, we should love and respect their choice, we can tell them our veiws and hope they understand us, but this is their war not ours.

alot of soldiers are their because thats how they were brought up, in patriotic military families, its all they know. or they are there do to financial reasons, for some the military is a rather good option to go to college and make somethign of themselves; this would not be my option but that is because i was raised in a welthy family near a very liberal town by my mother an old hippie at heart who now works for the United Auto Workers. i grew up singing protest songs and hearing stories of how my mother wouold help organize sit in's at University of Michigan. but what if i grew up with little money an un-educated family with little to no future, in a town of gun nuts????? would your veiws change, mine would.
So respect everyone and their oppinion, be the bigger person and try to influence others oppinions not force them to change
