I Like....

i like not getting into arguments with people on hf

 

I like the person who posts after me.

 

I like holidays, themes and decorating. I think there's a wealthy hostess in me just dying to get out.

 

I like long walks with hubby...

 

I like songs from the sixties about flowers and rain: two of my favorite things. Like Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall (Simon & Garfunkel); The Rain, the Park and Other Things (The Cowsills) and Flowers in the Rain (The Move).

 

i like to dream about the kind of world i'd rather be living in. although i'd rather be living in it then just having to dream about it. and i'm talking about the world we all have to live in, not something money or anything else could just buy for just myself.

a big part of that world are little people sized trains on very narrow gauge track, i mean just big enough to ride in or even on, as real transportation systems, replacing most of the functionality of the private passenger automobile.

another part of that world, one we do have now, which we didn't when i started dreaming about it more then 40 years ago, is this internet and these computers we're accessing it with.

credit cards and cell phones weren't part of it though. and neither are todays population levels, even what they were then was already excessive.

i like not having to worry about anything. another dream of course. but we could have that. and WITHOUT having to throw away freedom and gratifiction to do so. and i don't mean that some ideology, any ideology can/will give it to us.

i like using technology to be creative with. i like the idea of, would that i had the opportunity myself, using technology to live closer to, and in closer harmony with, nature itself.

i like a long walk alone in the woods on a spring day.

and very strange little houses.

pretty much anything that can be described as simultaniously strange and little.

suscinctness and benign strangeness.

and the kind of yellowish olivish green that you see on new plant growth in the spring.

 

pickles.

 

I like to wear t-shirts and jeans...

I HATE creases, God I do.

i like pall mall nonfilters.

 

and weed. wait, no...i LOVE them both, weed even more so.
