I'm still in Santa Cruz. Everytime I go to leave it starts raining again and I'm about over travelling in the rain.
Ok. I bought a bike (bicycle) a cpl weeks ago and I was planning on riding it down the coast to San Luis but the rain's holding me up. Soon as the rain stops i think i'm going to go for it. everytime i try to leave something happens to make me think it might be worth my while to stay. This time a friend of mine showed my cd to somebody who can get it played on the radio and maybe get me a few gigs. He wants me to stick around and re-record it, clean it up a bit. Sounds good but I'd have to stay in Santa Cruz and I'm thinking maybe next winter...
Pretty good, thanks for asking. Doing a bit of a physical/mental cleanse and things have been peaceful and progressive. If you come back to SLO, beware of the yuppies...they seem to be getting worse (and more plentiful) every day. The energy around here lately is kinda weirding me out. This man came up to me and threatened that he'll "see me later" after he saw me hugging another girl (homophobe perhaps?)....I looked back at him as he was running away and he had a huge picture of bob marley on the back of his jacket. I just realized that probably made absolutely no sense.
glad you're doing Ok. SLO started getting a weird feel to it last summer right before I left. a couple of long term residents said the same thing. That guy in the Marely jacket was probably just whacked. shit like that happens in Santa Cruz on an almost daily basis, ie, some complete stranger comes up to you and does or says something inexplicable and you're left wonderring "was that a threat? A come on? A little reminder from the universe not to do drugs?"
There used to be this stuff to CURE POISON OAK from a company in Willits called "Manzanita Magic". I swear to god this stuff worked like nothing else I have ever seen. I used to live in the woods in Humboldt/Mendocino where, I am sure, like SC, it grows in bushes thicker than....well, nevermind. In anycase, my wife/gf used to catch it from me when I would come in from the thicket. Left untreated, it would get nasty. We used this stuff and it would disappear from both of us within hours. I haven't seen this product in years. All you have to do though is to take some crushed fresh and younger manzanita leaves (you might throw in some berries for good measure), boil down into a thick tea an apply to your rash as soon as you can stand the heat on your skin. Re-apply every few hours as needed. For future use, you can also make an alcohol based tincture. Manzanita is a powerful astringent and will suck your poison oak juices dry!!! You have to give it a try. It is simply amazing! Let us know how it works for you.
Thanks goldmund. It went away on it's own though. I don't usually get poison oak anyway but when it's been raining as much as it has here you have to walk through the brush to get up a mountain--all the trails are streams now-- and walking through wet brush is like swimming through poison oak soup.
I found these really pretty mushrooms growing in a cave along the river. If I eat a few I can pyschically tap into the internet anytime I want. If that doesn't work I go to the library, or an internet cafe, or the Univerity, or wait until someone falls asleep on the bus and borrow his laptop.
http://poisonivy.aesir.com/view/welcome.html I'm fixin to declare war on the poison whatchamacallit round here w/some Agent Orange. Does anyone know if the following is True? If True it may be time to bring out the Nukes... Myth: Do not worry about dead plants Fact: Urushiol oil stays active on any surface, including dead plants, for up to 5 years.
