Well, according to a member of the Doors on an interview on TV, I'm pretty sure he said Jim was playing the guitar. No kidding, I was like "Huh?" too.
well then it is probobly wrong... I know when they recorded it, they played it all live in the studio, but then jim went and re-recorded the lyrics

Mine is the live version. I have it as he did it that day... It obviously is improvised if you've ever heard it. 15 minutes and the music is practically the same... Thing about it is all you really hear is Jim, Bass and the drums. I'm pretty sure he played guitar then, but I dunno. I don't see how else the band would've noticed he was trying to sing something else.
