Well hes a former body builder turned action hero turned beloved governor, but yes, I guarentee you that 60 year old man is in better shape then you'll ever be. Like it or not the health argument a load. Better keep pumping out those videos of chicken being tourtured to turn people on to your cult.

Nah, it's only unhealthy if you eat tons of it. This crap that meat is unhealthy is just more PETA-type propaganda.

    Fair enough.

I'll concede that in theory, meat can be healthy. But in today's society it generally isn't. If you buy your meat from a store, it is pumped full of antibiotics and growth hormones. Some animals have also been cannibalized. But in fairness, some types of fish are especially healthy. e.g. salmon. (if it is clean)

The cruelty issue is pretty black and white, but my main argument for veg...anism is land use. Meat production is a major environmental and societal problem. I was astonished when I found out how much petroleum is used to "process" one cow and how startlingly little food is produced per acre compared with other types of crops.

I have no beef (as it were) with a farmer who raises a cow, slaughters it and feeds it to his family. But factory farms really really suck for everyone.

Hell, meat is good for us. Our bodies are made to eat meat for a reason.

Have you all noticed that little ten year old girls have titties these days?
    (you sickos)
Some say it's prenatal vitamins, but I think it's the growth hormones.

Don't get me wrong, those videos are horrible, but there also anomalies. I think its a dirty tactic to use tasteless images to further your cause, and I think its very pathetic when someone compares eating chicken to the holocaust.

Most athletes are told to eat diets of 70-80% protein, and this is with all atheletes, boxers, gymnasts, cyclists. Meat is part of a balenced diet, and Its especially esential to people who engage in rigerous activities. Athletes tend to be very healthy... *sigh*

Well, it's good in moderation. Obviouisly eating a lot of it is not good, especially when you factor in the chemicals and hormones that are present in a lot of the store-bought meats today.

And yes, the human body is made to injest meat. If it wasn't, we wouldn't have the bicuspids, specifically intended to slice and grind meat, nor would we have the enzymes present in our stomachs to digest it.

But these vegan nazis have a good way of twisting scientific facts around to fit their desired chorus line, so much of their rhetoric comes as no surprise to me.

I fully support growth hormones, even if I don't know what they are for this reason alone.

    This is off topic, though:

I saw Keller Williams last night. He said he was going to vote for Jesse the body Shwarzenager.

What about man boobs? I wonder if growth hormone contributes to that. They do say that breast cancer in males is on the rise.

We'll I don't want to argue with your choice of 'lifestyle' or whatever, but the pumping full of antibiotics arument is really thoretical. The only viruses mutating to circumvent typical antibiotics *the argument aginst it* have only been in labratory experiments. While this is still problematic, its not a cause for major alarm. Penicilin is being modified with genetics to make it more usefull to fight these strings of 'super viruses'.

Like I said, animal cruelty is a valid argument, but those peta videos are anomilies.

As for land use, I dissagree there. About 2/3 of the dry land on earth is unusable for farming, that is the land that is typically open range, mountainous or desert, and therefore being put to good use. Its misleading to think that the food being used to feed animals could be diverted to feed humans. While any production of food causes enviormental problems, the culture of animal isn't that much worse enviormentally or socially that that of produce. And both are being dealt with in a more sophistacated manner as time goes by. If your going to be a veg**** be one for personal reasons of not wanting to particiapate in the harming of animals.

I am a vegan for many reasons. I also don't take kindly to sewage runoffs in my watershed which contributes to the overgrowth of plantlife and soaks up oxygen in the Cheseapeake bay, therefore causing death to the Menhaden population with is considered one of the most important food links in the bay. While Menhaden consume algae for the parasites in them to eat and they life of the waste of the parasites, overgrowth can lower oxygen levels.
