Michelle Trachtenberg is Harriet the spy. I don't know if my post could have been more on topic. And the threads topic seems to be how great you and your pale skin look without any evidence of. So it's at best arrogant and at worst a bold face lie. No offense.
No offense taken. You're absolutely right. I admit I can be arrogant at times. It is just something people need to deal with. Sorry.
pale skin! for the win! though, like TNS - i think i look better with a tan. i don't tan much, but my freckles bring out my true personality.
everything about you is amazing....... dark skin or pale skin... my girlfriend has a big big deep major scar from her cheekbone to her jaw.. she really hates it, and i feel so bad that she does....... to me i love it, it is real beautiful to me, and it hurts me a lot to think how she doesn't like it..... to me she is so so SO beautiful, and it makes me very very sad to think that sometime she doesn't feel that way........!!
As long as you're comfortable with it's fair enough. I'm sure you're a lovely girl, and honestly I was just going to use a picture of you to hustle some money out of people on PlentyOfFish.com All the best.
Good for you!! You came to the exact same conclusion I did; while living in the southern region of the states. With strawberry blonde hair, hazel eyes; and a very fare complexion. I recall being giving shit for not tanning; just another one of those "suppose to" ideas that equate to complete crap. We also share the belief; not having a single reason to be ashamed of our heritage! Once I was asked why I’m so fare I replied “my fare skin is of my ancestry, which I love". Sharing the- following- mentality in fact; Behaving and looking just like everyone else, wouldn't be as satisfying; as just being me. While at the the beach, I feel -0- shame ... sun worshipers obviously gawk. Noticing their leathery appearance, I pay them no mind. It was appalling that people at work made comments about the fareness of my skin when exposed in summer clothing...Seriously people! Is my body any of your business? Were they tring to give me a complex, for what? The bottom line is: I accepted their mind-set, and different belief system. "Live and let live' isn't that the point; in exchange for the same returned courtesy? Walking with your head high (not being snobby).Being exactly as you are, teaches people that you’re unaffected by their nonsense; in time they’ll get that about you. Taking excellent care of your skin maintains a very youthful appearance. I do; and would do so; if my ancestors were from another part of the world. We all need to love and accept ourselves and maintain our right to live, despite the pettiness of others. Sometimes, Individuality requires more courage than seems necessary. Sincerely yours, another very fare friend.
... Is it just me, or do people in this thread like their skin a bit too much? Earlier I said that I like the colour of mine and the natural protection it gives me from solar rays, but now it's getting a bit creepy.
Nah, I can see where you're coming from. All pigmentation in the skin is natural melanin defense based on geographic location over 7,000 years or so. It's only relevant when discussing biology in the terms of genetic predisposition to diseases and how medical science could help understand how different ethnicity's occurred. Otherwise I do find threads like this a little creepily ethnocentric. But on the hypocrisy sake of scale, I will mention I like latin girls.
Thanks. It's nice to see another blonde who maintains her milky white skin without being duped by the Pamela Andersons or Paris Hiltons of the world. The combination of tanned skin and blonde hair looks hideous and fake to me. (Sorry) Also, it's nice to hear from another girl who has strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes, especially in the South. What was the nationality of your ancestors? I have a lot of Spanish blood, but unlike the typical Spaniard, I do not tan easily. I burn like a lobster.
By the way, this is how pale my skin is, if anyone is wondering. No, she is not me! http://blog.mlive.com/newblack/2008/02/medium_anne hathaway.jpg
You’re welcome. Well, to each their own, I say..If people wanna have a look that makes them feel sexy; more power to um' none-ah my beez wax. I did reside in ATL. for six years; despite the fact that the closest beach is a six hour drive. It appeared, some people felt it was necessary; to have a certain look. Oddly enough; as if it were somehow expected of ALL people; regardless of gender. To desire a tan Year Round go figure...I've never sweated such silliness. I'm predominately Irish; I'm proud to be so! The experience I recall going to the beaches in Florida; some people were frighteningly tan -Looks of mutual disgust were tossed around quite a bit! Cheers and remember your sun block always!!
Well, where is a pic of you? I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say you should post a pic of yourself. Don't be shy:tongue:
I would if I could, but I using an outdated camera, which will not upload pictures on my computer. And since my financial situation is tough, as of now, I have to spend my money wisely. So, I'm afraid you'll have to wait. Sorry if that may seem like a lame excuse, but I can assure you there's nothing I can do about it.
Am I the only one who finds pale skin unattractive? It looks so unhealthy. Whenever I see someone with pale skin, I just assume that they stay inside all day and don't live an active lifestyle.
^I think a person's natural skin tone is beautiful. Some people simply do not tan. What I find unattractive is a pale person trying to make their skin do something it is simply not designed to do. Pale people get skin cancer easier than naturally dark people so its actually a lot healthier for them to protect their skin and ensure it stays pale. I live a really active lifestyle. My skin has a glow from being outdoors and being healthy, but I'll never be what anyone would classify as tan, and (to toot my own horn here) I still think my skin tone is pretty.
I agree with everything you said, but what the people in this thread are talking about sounds like the most pale type of skin, that looks grey and you can almost see veins... Eurgh.
