It is just a ring dude, an object of so-called 'status'. A strong, fierce military guy like yourself should be above that.
Besides that, think about what is really important in life.

 

i'm not joining the military..just go to school where i have the option to either join or not. i've chosen not to.

 

its not the actual ring that i'm feeling bad about. like i said, i feel like a failure right now.

just because you didn't finish at the same time as everyone else doesn't make you any less of a person, are you're friends making you feel bad or is it just inside your head?
i don't know your friends, but i'm sure they don't look down upon you just cause you haven''t gotten your ring
if you want to get your ring, get it, regardless of when you get it it's still a huge accomplishment
and if this is something you are having issues with, than maybe not getting your ring is a sign for you to do something different

its in my head. my friend brian let me wear one of his rings that weekend. its just that i feel like i have been letting myself down for a long time. theres a lot more to this than the ring, it really goes back to when i had to have knee surgery. thats when it really started.
