i just honestly dont believe it when anybody claims to have smoked a whole cigar and inhaled it all, no offense, but especially not somebody so young. inhaling a whole cigar would be about like smoking a pack and a half of unfiltered cigarettes in one go, but it would be even harsher on the throat and inhaling them changes the flavor a LOT (for the worse) i could see inhaling if you were really really fucked up (tripping maybe....or else drunk) and just not noticing, especially with some weak, flavorless bullshit like a black and mild, but theres just no way the average person could really smoke a whole cigar like that. to the 16 year old above me claiming to have smoked a cuban cigar and inhaled the whole thing....how much did it cost? how did you get it? what brand was it? what size? now maybe i could imagine someone smoking a cigar and managing to inhale it if it was a really mild tobacco like a macanudo or CAO gold or something and a really really small size (say 5X38 or smaller)....but if you're talking about a Bolivar or Montecristo churchill or hell, even a robusto, then theres NO WAY IN HELL that you're able to inhale the whole thing and NOT get sick as a dog and/or pass out. but first of all i doubt most folks (let alone kids) have access to cuban cigars. they're VERY expensive (dont expect to even get a really small one for less than 25-30 bucks minimum), they're illegal to sell, import, or purchase and not available in most stores or cigar lounges, and even wealthy cigar enthusiasts who would know where to begin to look have trouble getting them sometimes.
my buddy hit two philly titans through his nose (stuck them to his nostrils and breathed in)... didnt cough, didn't puke
Try smoking fresh uncured dry green tobacco. It is psychedelic in wierd wierd way. Cigar and cigarette tobacco is usually cured for 1-4 years so the nicotine levels are much reduced.
man, ive smoked a white owl by inhaling it. it is indeed killer on your lungs, and does get you sick, but thats after it gets you buzzed on nicotine like shite. but its possible. in fact, its much milder than an unfiltered cigarette. but this is not a full sized one we are talkin. those ones are uncomparable, theres a fair bit more smoke coming through at once. thats the main factor, ive found. the rate of burning. blunt sized cigars are nothin compared to fat cubans. i dont like smoking unless i am inhaling, it just feels dirty in the mouth when i puff cigars. i feel like i should be paying less for cigar next to cigarettes, but it aint like that
Last night was my first time smoking a cigar, and I def. did inhale and I didn't puke. Not that it was good... way too harsh for me. But it was worth the experience. I believe that you try everything once. Not great, but I could get used to it.
theres just no REASON to inhale a cigar. yeah, inhaling one or two times is not going to make you sick, and yeah, many people may be able to stomach inhaling a tiny cigarillo or something, but its entirely pointless to inhale a real cigar. it tastes worse if you inhale. its WAY harsher if you inhale. you're very likely to get sick if you inhale. and you get plenty of nicotine without inhaling (i used to be a hardcore cigarette chain smoker, and now i smoke cigars. if i sit down and have a very large, stronger nicotine content cigar, i'll sometimes almost be unsure that i didnt get too much nicotine. even without inhaling. i've accidentally inhaled before (twice) and didnt vomit either time, but still it was a THOROUGHLY unpleasant experience, as opposed to the pensive, calm, almost euphoric mellow feeling i enter when smoking a fine cigar without inhaling.
I agree it just doesn't feel right when I smoke without inhaling. I've only had the small cheap kind of cigars before, but i always inhaled and enjoyed them like that. I dont know why get cigars if theyre more expensive and only get an equal effect through an annoying instead of enjoyable method. but if you like just puffin on it, thats cool for you, i guess. I like smoking a pipe too, but i also inhale that. I like it because it's cheap and strong. Right now all I have is Kentucky's Best brand cigarettes. tobacco is expensive in ohio. i miss Nebraska. anyway, im gonna go smoke. Everyone else should do too. It's good for you!
In general I'd say you shouldn't really inhale the smoke from cigars(unless it's like black n milds or something) but to each their own.
Alot of cigars, mostly the cheap ones you buy at the corner store (Blackstones, Colts, Phillies) have fiberglass in the actual tobacco. Not good to inhale. The fiber glass makes little cuts in you're mouth and throat to let the nicotine go into you faster. More of a hit. Same as chew and snuff. People can get a headrush smoking 1.2 - 2.3 mg of nicotine from a cigarette, an unexperinced person, smoking a cigar that probaly had 5.0mg of nicotine in it probaly would give you a headrush for a few minutes.. but hours? I dunno man.
i know whiteowl uses nontobacco products even in their unflavored smokes, and of course any flavored gas station cigar is going to have a lot of additives. premium cigars (that is, handrolled cigars made with longfiller tobacco from such famous tobacco growing regions as cuba, honduras, nicaragua, and the dominican republic) should have absolutely NOTHING in them except tobacco. no fiberglass, no paper, nothing. the sole exception is flavored or "infused" cigars. usually they're just dipped in rum or cognac or something, sometimes they contain oils from other herbs and such. they still should never have anything like fiberglass or paper or any other nasties if they're premium firsts purchased in a reputable store. i dont know why people think its less enjoyable to not inhale. you get equal or even greater effect without it, and they just last so much longer. people who can't manage to smoke a cigar properly (very slowly and without inhaling, but rather rolling the smoke around in your mouth savoring the terriffic flavor and giving time to absorb some nicotine) why do some people prefer paying more for tobacco you dont inhale? it tastes good, it lasts MUCH longer than a cigarette, the feeling you get from smoking a cigar rather than a cigarette is much nicer and FAR more relaxing, you don't put all that shit straight in your lungs, and when it takes you an hour to smoke, you end up significantly reducing how much you smoke in a day. a heavy smoking day for me is 4 cigars. normally its 1-3, with two being pretty much the average. asking why you'd pay more for cigars is like asking why you'd pay more for nuggets than middies. yeah, you can get a buzz off of cheap pot, and when you buy nugs they aren't always strong enough to command a doubled price based on potency alone, but when you're buying nugs you aren't JUST paying more for the potency, you're also paying more for the labor intensive care given to the product, the better aroma, the more fulfilling smoke, the infinitely better taste, not to mention generally a longer lasting and overall MORE PLEASANT effect from smoking it. it's the same with tobacco...yeah, there are cheaper ways to get nicotine into your system, but it all boils down to this question: do you really want to? most people will say yes because they're content with the additive-laden super cheap cigarettes they buy, but many people will say no because they simply prefer higher quality products. i smoked my first cigarette in about a month last night, and i almost got sick. i couldnt only inhale about half of it...made me dizzy and wierd. the damn thing was so tiny i was afraid i was about to break it. it only lasted 5 minutes at the very longest. honestly, while i think the mids and nugs analogy was pretty accurate, for me going back and smoking a cigarette is even comparable to huffing chemical fumes as a replacement for smoking weed just because it's cheaper..... anyway, today i went and picked up a few new smokes to try....a helix maduro cause its inexpensive (3-4 bucks at a shop) and i've heard some pretty good things about them, onyx reserve because they are by NO means the most expensive premium on the market and yet they have received some unbeleivably high ratings....the mini belicoso received a 94 which is one of the highest ratings EVER given to a cigar, also got a royal jamaica gold, which i've also heard good things about and quite frankly the packaging is just very intrigueing to me. also i picked up a partagas spanish rosado, which while a little pricey is one of my favorite cigars that i've ever smoked....its actually intensely wonderful....words fail me...... anyway, yeah....if you guys don't believe me at all that cigars can be just as, if not far more, satisfying when compared to cigarettes, just get a few dollars and hit up a cigar store....get one or two $3-7 cigars (ask the tobacconist if he has recommendations for someone new to real cigars) and have them cut them for you at the counter (they should be more than happy to meet this request) make sure you light the cigar evenly or else you might fuck up the burn. make sure you smoke slowly, it only takes about one puff every 30 seconds to keep it going...smoking too fast can ruin the burn as well, and will cause the cigar to burn too hot and can ruin the flavor. make sure you have some time on your hands to just sit back and really enjoy it. recommendations would be a gispert corona, a romeo y julieta bully, a macanudo hyde park, an h. upmann corona, or for the more conservative spender a flor de oliva gold toro, which should cost less than 3 bucks. all of these would be excellent choices for a newcomer, though some are more expensive than others.
you probably just had a head rush, it happens to me when it was a while that i didnt smoke a cigarette
a headrush -generally- happens independant of any drug-related activity. a nicotine "overdose" (as in dosing with more than you can stand, rather than dosing to a dangerous degree) is very, very different, imho. overdosing on nicotine makes you feel very dizzy and sick, and for me can last up to an hour or even more of extremely unpleasant sensation, depending on the degree to which one ingests it. a headrush is -generally- pretty much the dizzy, faint feeling you get if you stand up too fast, and passes in a minute or less. generally vision seems to be pretty impaired as well. i believe headrushes generally can be accounted for by a rapid increase or decrease of blood flow to the head, which would explain why they most often happen from switching from a prolonged reclined position to a standing position very quickly. i've experienced both numerous times, and i've never found them to be the slightest bit similar, except for the dizziness. this, of course, is not backed up by anything other than my personal experience and understanding, of course. i've not done any research on this matter whatsoever, so perhaps you know better. but i'm pretty certain that the feeling you get from a "headrush" is almost never assosciated from a drug related ill feeling. then again, for all i know "headrush" is not generally considered suitable medical jargon, and may have different meanings to different people and/or different regions. for the record, when i used to take SSRI medications and decided to cease taking them, i *stupidly* defied the doctor's recomendation to ween off of them rather than just take them till my scrip ran out and not take them anymore. the following three days i had numerous and severe sensations that i strictly associate with having a headrush. blurred/obscurred field of vision, incapacitation, dizziness, a feeling of faintness, feeling literally drained. it wasn't constant throughout the whole three days, but a good portion of my waking time was filled with these sensations (1/3-1/2) even when i was still and reclined for long periods. it didnt just happen from standing too quickly. this is much more likely due to rapid changes in seratonin regulation rather than blood flow, so i suppose that it would be wrong to say they NEVER occur due to drug-related activity, but in my experience such things are very rare. i've certainly never had a headrush from smoking, and neither has anybody i've known...least pleasant three days of my life, just about...
