Sure, but if they ever pose a threat then they should be destroyed. It's not like they haven't tried to destroy Israel many many times throughout history as it is.
As I've said before... not all Palestinians support the terrorist organizations. They will learn to recognize the existence of Israel, the peaceful way or the hard way. I hope that Israel will be able to set enough of an example for them... enough of an example to discourage a further resistance against Israel. But sure, I agree... violence will only create violence. This is why Israel only results to violence as the last straw, so to speak. Israel should stop worrying about the international community. The UN is corrupt, Europe is antisemitic, and the rest of them don't matter enough. Iran is not a long way away from nukes, don't believe what the media tells you. Saddam was close to nukes in the 80s, which forced Israel to destroy his nuclear reactors (and then coalition forces in the Gulf War, in which Israel promised not to retaliate because of yet again... diplomatic pressure). It is only a matter of time before the Arabs get their hands on nuclear/ chemical weapons, even if they don't develop them themselves... there are plenty of nations who would love to make some money off the oil rich Arabs. The Russians, per example, have never shied away from dealing weapons to the Hizzbolah and Iran. The problem is that the rockets and suicide bombing will never truly stop, unless Israel does something.
This is ridiculous. Second of all, that picture is ridiculous. Hell, give me a rocket, I'd draw on it all day.
Anyhow, I feel like I'm preaching to the choir when I talk to you Matt. You, just like practically every other liberal American, are completely ignorant of the situation within Israel... no matter how many Youtube clips you watch. War isn't pretty, and it's easy to point out Israel's flaws if you're determined to do so. Just like it's more than easy for me to point out the Palestinian flaws. Try living in Israel for a day though... it's very easy to criticize a country out of the safety of your home.
While I agree that Israel should use force should any country in the local area gain nuclear capabilities. I doubt that Iran would ever risk using them. They know as well as anyone does, that Israel has plenty more than they ever will, and an attack would be fruitless. While Ahmedinajad may talk like a 'martyr' I doubt he would ever follow through with his words. On the point of militant support. I doubt that would play much of a role. If a country to which you are (at best) indifferent to. Marches into your neighborhood, kicks everyone out temporarily and then kills family or family friends, then whether or not you supported the cause in the first place, you'd support it then. No one but the most cold of people has people close to them killed and then even contemplates the side of the killer.
Sunshine, you might as well pop some corn and grab a blanket. It going to be a process that has to play itself out. Too much negative energy to be contained. It's going to blow. Cause it needs to. It's best to stay out of the way of it if you can. These kinds of things blow through civilization every few decades. We're due. Silence can save your life in the very near future. "Jewish? I'm not Jewish. I'm Italian. Look at this Roman nose." "White" people will buy this more often than not. It sounds bad now, but remember what I said. Anti-semitism is on the rise, and its going to get rough before it gets better. x
I'm calling for a worldwide ban on the production and use of rockets. They are indiscriminate killers of civilians and have no defensive purposes. If we can make landmines and handguns politically incorrect why not rockets? :beatdeadhorse5:
All that picture shows is one of the facts SUPPORTING Israel. So many of the children over there have faced massive problems with post traumatic stress syndrome and things of the like, because of the countries surrounding them. The Muslin nations are merciless.
The one problem is that Iran's leader is a radical. He believes he must bring about the apocalypse for the messiah to come forth. So I don't think he cares about whether or not they get bombed back
You are aware that certain Christians within the US have the same idea, and they are hard at work within YOUR government? The whole neocon powerbase depends on their voting power. x
Except most "Christians" in government are not Christians at all. They merely use the face of Christianity to rally the gullible into following them and getting behind their murderous cause. I don't believe for a second that Bush or any of these Freemason, Skull & Bones members are Christians. Bush's entire persona as a Christian cowboy renegade is a PR creation. There's nothing real about it.
Ha. Like I am a liberal. That's a good one. I encourage Jews to leave Israel and come to America or move to Europe where they are safe. I cannot understand why so many secular Jews such as yourself are so gung-ho about sticking up for Israel. It's like some sort of ethnic pride thing I find to be a bit scary. It causes you to not see the big picture.
Iran would use them, it's as simple as that. They would, it's a fact, they would. ...and nah, Israel has been in Lebanon plenty before and it hasn't created too many fanatics just yet. Fear teaches people to know better.
It's the only place I can call "home", the only place my parents can call home, and the only place my family and my people can call home. Not everyone can move to the US. Wanna finance a couple of poor souls?
I don't believe Iran would use those weapons, even if they could. The only country we should be concerned about is China. All the countries we fear, probably have just a few weapons of mass destruction (if at all) and the ones they have are probably quite primitive compared to the superpowers. It's unfortunate that the US is okay with breaking international law to attack Iraq, while they don't see Darfur as a serious problem until the UN tells them to use force. What makes you think Europe is so anti-Semitic?
Europe simply is antisemitic... there shouldn't really be a justification for it. Most people do not realize how dominant antisemitism still is. People do not hate less because it is not politically correct or legal in a certain sense to hate... they just hide and bottle the hate up which makes it even stronger. The Holocaust only happened a little less than 70 years ago, and antisemitism was prevalent then. Human kind does not progress that much that fast, it's still there in full force. Worst country in Europe... France. The French sure do hate Jews.
I do not agree completely, but it is true that since 1980 the Republican Party has pandered to the beliefs and values of Protestant Fundamentalists in order to win the votes of lower income whites who are hurt by Republican economic policies.
I have an Iranian mate, from an atheistic family (strangely enough though, still dislikes Israel), who obviously despises Ahmedinajad giving the country such a stupid image. But, from what he's told me of his many visits to the place, it's not as radical as it's portrayed. Ahmedinajad keeps up his shouty jihadist image. But the country is not under radical rule as such. They have some weird laws, but I very much doubt Ahmedinajad would be able to launch a strike if he got the weapons. You really cannot terrify people into submission, then you have become no better than those you're fighting against. Not only that, but do you really expect a suicide bomber to be intimidated out of blowing himself up?
